  • Staff wages allowed not increasing despite board approving it

When negotiating a contract renewal I'm limited to offering my director of football £13,250 a week, below his current wage. I ask the board to increase the max wages allowed, which they agree to. But when I go to offer my DoF a new contract, the limit is still £13,250. I've tried asking the board and then simming ahead a week before offering a contract (which takes me into the new year) and the limit is still the same.

There's a secondary issue here as well. The only way I can find out what my DoF's wage demands are (and that I can't afford them, so need to ask my board for a higher limit) is to start contract negotations with him. But once I've begun the process of offering a contract I can't continue the game until the negotiation concludes, which in this case inevitably means he rejects my contract because I can only offer him a pay cut. So now even if the wage limit increase does go through, my DoF won't negotiate with me because of the breakdown in talks. In previous editions it was the case that you could click to enter negotiations for a renewal to see what their demands are, and as long as you didn't actually make an offer you could continue the game without having to end talks.

I've attached a save file from right before I offered a new contract/asked the board to raise the limit, called 'director of football salary change'.
