Hi,
Two seasons into my save and after both seasons, "signing of the season" has been awarded to the signing with the lowest average rating. I don't have a screenshot of Berhalter being the lowest rated, but it's pretty obvious that he shouldn't have won it, considering the performance of Haikin, who won the golden glove.
