In FM23 I've noticed that the "Ask [Captain] to discuss with player" function never gives a positive outcome. Playing my 6th season and I have had multiple captains with Leadership around 14-16, good determination and team leader in the hierarchy. None of them have been able to talk a player out of playing time or contract issues.
Previous iterations of FM it was maybe too easy to have a long standing with high leadership. I could send them to deal with problems anytime. This year no chance and it feels just like a useless function.
In my opinnion a 14-16 Leadership (a good rating) should at least get a success once in a while. Even a bad leadership captain should be able to convince a player once in a save.
