The problem is where the game go to pre-match tatics (where you select the team, tatics and select the squad...) and the "continue" make you go to matchday.
If you change anything in your tatics, and instead click to "submit team"you click in anything else and navigate to few pages, when you go back to tatics screen your modifications are missing and the tatics go back to default one.
Ex: This is the tatical meeting, my assistance said that we should focus on left side, I agreed:

I do another change, for exemple change the mentality to defensive (we can see it is positive em previoulsy screen) :
After it instead to click in submit team I decided navigate for some pages, come back to menu, inbox... whatever, and ok I clicked again in "Team Selection" and back to the page
My changes was gone, back to positive and the assistant suggestion too.
