  • VAR after goal replay

    Just a weird though... 

    currently in game, if the goal is contentious, shouldnt the VAR comes first before it is announced as a goal? as things stand, there is no goal announcement after it state that it is up to VAR review. it just replays the goal and after the replay, it shows the VAR. sequence should be

    1. goal flagged for possible infringement

    2. VAR check

    3. shows VAR replay

    4. award goal.

    The goal is awarded in the first instance, with VAR stepping in to possibly negate the play if  the VAR refs spot a potential foul. 

    If it went by your steps, then every goal would have to be checked for infringement before it was awarded, which wouldn't be time efficient. 

    Hopefully that clears it up!
