Defenders refuse to intercept the ball inviting the attacker to do whatever he wants

Here it is another example where the defender has an abnormal behaviour and he is not able to recognize where the ball is going. He just runs way back giving plenty of room to the attacker to collect the ball who always seems to know where the ball goes no matter what Anticipation he has.

I want to mention I do not have Drop Deeper team instruction selected on this occasion. After some testing on my own I have got to the conclusion that by not selecting any of the new team instructions added this year ( Drop deeper and Step up more ) there is less abnormal defence behaviour in the match engine. Also it is worth mentioning that I have never encounter weird defence behaviour on the AI side, besides what could be normal low attributes limitation. 

 

I don't understand how SI can release a game in this state. I do not have enough time to upload all the bugs that are in this match engine, it is absolutely disgusting that after selling 1 million copies of the previous game you guys come up with an unfinished product again. I hope you will release a patch soon that will fix the match engine as it is the core of the game. I personally don't care about ui bugs, not that they should exist but are less important and I guess most of us can live with it.

They do it every year there's no point complaining anymore might as well just upload bugs or wait till march, where they have a semi finished game.

the game is only bought for the transfer window and new player stats and they know this.

 

But yeah the ball perception issues whilst defending is so prevalent its probably known

Thanks for providing an additional example Zewlson. It helps because with how the AI works understanding the sequence of events that result in a player making these kinds of decisions enables the QA team to identify what is going wrong. The ME is an area under active work and certainly we're not prioritising it lower than any other area.
