Sometimes when raising an issue on our forums, it may be easier to raise your problem with a video showing what you mean. Due to that, we've listed some instructions below on how you can provide us with recorded content.

    Installation

To record videos, you can use a free software called OBS (Open Broadcast Software). To get OBS, go to https://obsproject.com/ and click the appropriate button for your OS, this should start the download straight away.

Run through the installer by clicking next when prompted, then tick the box saying "Launch OBS Studio" and click finish.

Once OBS has started, you'll be greeted with a pop up asking if you want to run the auto-configuration wizard, select yes. After selecting yes, click the circle for optimising recording and then click next.

    Settings

Go to Settings -> Output and make sure your recording path is set to your default videos folder, your recording quality is set to "High Quality, Medium File Size" and your recording format is set to mp4.

Then go to Settings -> Video and make sure that your base canvas is the resolution of your monitor (to find the resolution of your monitor, Go to Desktop -> "Display settings" -> "Resolution"). Most of the time your base and output resolutions are the same. However, if you have a high-resolution monitor (1440p or 4k for example), you'll need to change the output resolution to 1920x1080 (or as close as you can get to that).

You can now confirm all your changes and return to the main window.

    Adding Sources

Select the + button under sources and find the "game capture" option. Create a new source and name it "FM", click OK.

Adding a game source means that no matter how many windows you have open or on top of FM, OBS will still only see and record FM.

You've now got your FM game playing back in OBS.

Lastly, if you listen to anything through your computer and you don't want it playing in your videos, you need to mute the audio. To do this, find the audio mixer in the bottom centre of the window and click the speaker to mute the sound.

    Uploading

Depending on the size of the video you may be able to add it to your issue, or upload to our OwnCloud. If you do the latter, please remember to let us know the file name via your issue so we can locate it.
