  • Just like on FM22 and FM23, I'm seeing several cases where players are heading the ball in unnecessary situations - particularly when they could chest the ball, let it go out of play, or wait to control it with their feet. I'm also seeing situations where players are being forced into wasteful headers by their team-mates playing needlessly risky high balls.

    Bradford City v Millwall
37:10 - Nisbet (Millwall) intercepts Lewis' goal kick with a header straight back to the Bradford defence.
43:00 - After a long ball from Millwall midfielder Mitchell, the Bradford defenders Oyegoke and Stubbs play a dangerous one-two of headers across their penalty area.

    Middlesbrough v Millwall
15:20 - Middlesbrough winger Jones heads the ball into the Millwall area. Hutchinson then heads the ball across to his fellow Millwall defender Bryan, who then pointlessly nods the ball back to Jones, who dribbles past him and scores.

    Millwall v Bristol City
22:45 - Tanner throws the ball about 20 yards to his Bristol City team-mate Wells, who immediately heads it back to him.

    Millwall v Stoke
65:55 - After Wesley Moraes clears the ball out of Stoke's area, Millwall forward Emakhu (with nobody else near him) weakly heads it into the path of Stoke wing-back Hoever, setting up the chance for a counter-attack.

    Millwall v Barnsley
6:00 - After Millwall's goalkeeper Bialkowski punches the ball out of his area, Barnsley's Kane tries to head the ball on to his team-mate Watters from about 30 yards out.

    Birmingham v Millwall
40:00 - A strike from Burke ricochets off the Millwall bar and then off Stansfield's back. Millwall right-back Norton-Cuffy heads the ball out wide when he could probably clear it with his feet.

    Leeds v Millwall
0:05 - Saville plays a long aerial ball out right to his Millwall team-mate. It is too high and heading out of play, but Leeds' Struijk heads it out of play anyway, giving the throw to Millwall instead of Leeds.
23:50 - Struijk's header is going wide of the Millwall goal, but Saville decides to head it behind anyway, meaning Leeds get a corner instead of Millwall getting a goal kick.

    Watford v Milwall
58:55 - Millwall defender Cooper plays a long ball up to Watmore, who cheaply heads it straight back to the Watford defence.

    Millwall v Norwich
27:00 - Norwich defender Hanley hits a long ball down the left. Millwall right-back McNamara decides to knock it across to his team-mate Campbell in a dangerous situation, and it is intercepted by Rowe, starting a counter-attack.

    Bristol City v Millwall
62:20 - A clearance from Bristol City keeper Bajic is headed back into the City area by Millwall left-back Norton-Cuffy.
63:15 - Millwall defender Cooper heads away a corner. As the ball bounces out of the Millwall box, Bristol City's Benarous attempts a couple of headers before his half-volley is blocked.

    Millwall v Reading
29:30 - Reading defender Yiadom clears a Norton-Cuffy long ball out of the penalty area with a diving header when something less fancy would have made more sense.
42:45 - Millwall midfielder Honeyman hits a long ball towards the centre circle for Esse, who pointlessly heads it on to a Reading defender.
45:10 (second half) - A headed clearance from Reading's Holmes is headed off the touchline by Millwall's Longman to his team-mate Emakhu, who pointlessly heads it into the Reading area.
53:50 - Reading's Mola hits a long ball towards the far side of the Millwall penalty area. It looks like the right-back Norton-Cuffy should cover it, but the Millwall goalkeeper Bialkowski charges out with a headed clearance that is intercepted by Azeez.
62:10 - Millwall and Reading play head tennis. A throw-in from Millwall right-back Leonard is followed by four consecutive headers.

    Millwall v Middlesbrough
0:10 - Bryan crosses the ball to his Millwall team-mate Bradshaw on the edge of the centre circle. For no reason whatsoever, Bradshaw heads it back about 40 yards to his centre-back Cooper, rather than flick it on to Campbell.
7:45 - Bryan plays the ball down the line for Emakhu. Instead of running onto it, Emakhu plays a wasteful header into the Middlesbrough box, ending a potential attack.
93:50 - Millwall right-back Norton-Cuffy intercepts a Middlesbrough ball but makes a very risky header outside his penalty area to goalkeeper Sarkic. It would be more understandable if Norton-Cuffy just tried to clear the ball into touch.

    QPR v Millwall
64:35 - Millwall striker Bradshaw flicks the ball towards QPR's penalty area. QPR defender Cannon waits for the ball to bounce and then plays a risky header that is intercepted by Bradshaw. He should have either cleared the ball with his feet or passed back to Begovic.

    Millwall v Sheffield Wednesday
26:20 - Millwall defender Hutchinson plays the ball far too high to right-winger Esse, who can only head it to a Sheffield Wednesday defender.

    Millwall v Watford
8:25 - After a long ball from Millwall's right-back McNamara goes too far, Watford's left-back Lewis decides to head it across to his centre-back Porteous rather than wait to control it or let it go out of play.
47:00 (first half) - A spell of needlessly messy head tennis in Millwall's area, starting with McNamara heading away a cross from Lewis.
46:30 (second half) - After Millwall goalkeeper Bialkowski saves a shot from Watford right-back Andrews, Millwall midfielder Campbell heads the ball clear. I feel like he could wait a little longer to clear more effectively with his feet.
58:10 - Watford's Koné clears a cross from Esse with a header out wide. His team-mate Ince then makes another headed clearance for no obvious reason.

    Rotherham v Millwall
    26:25
    - After a shot from Millwall forward Esse is blocked by two Rotherham defenders, a third defender Morrison decides to head it back to his goalkeeper Johansson rather than pass it back.
94:35 - Rotherham's Tiéhi sends a long ball into the Millwall box but is unlikely to find Lembikisa on the right wing. Millwall left-back Scales still decides to head it forward instead of waiting a bit longer to control and clear.

    Millwall v Leicester
83:05 - A shot from Leicester's Daka is blocked by Millwall centre-back Harding. The ball bounces up to Millwall right-back McNamara, who heads it back to goalkeeper Sarkic - the ball bouncing dangerously close to Daka.

    Roma v Milan

68:20 - After Calabria clears the ball towards touch, Roma forward Dybala tries to keep the ball in play with a header, which is then - I think - cleared behind by another unnecessary header from another Milan player. I wish I could explain this in more detail, but the highlight keeps cutting out whenever I try to review it.

    Roma v Monza
86:50 - A cross from Monza's Vignato is cleared out of the Roma box by N'Dicka, but not before Pellegrini decides to head it for no obvious reason.

    Roma v Lecce
16:20 - Lecce defender Joan clears the ball out of the penalty area, and Roma forward Zalewski nods it out of touch for no reason.

    Inter v Roma
33:14 - A shot from Inter's Barella hits the crossbar. That is then followed by three consecutive headers from the Roma players Smalling, Sanches and Dybala, taking the ball from their penalty area to the centre circle.

    Torino v Roma
71:00 - Roma defender Kristensen heads the ball out of the penalty area, and Belotti decides to put in another header. I think he should clear it with his feet here.

    Frosinone v Roma
6:20 - Roma defender Mancini intercepts a clearance from Frosinone's Monterisi with a header, pointlessly giving the ball away to an opposition player.

    Napoli v Roma
50:45 - Goal kick from Roma goalkeeper leads to four consecutive headers around the halfway line from Zielinski (Napoli), Aouar (Roma), Ostigard and Kvaratskhelia (both Napoli).
84:55 - Napoli forward Raspadori scrambles the ball from his penalty area up to his team-mate Kvaratskhelia, who pointlessly heads it out left to no obvious target, leaving Roma with an easy interception.
