The AMC in a narrow diamond formation is just drifting to the left wing regardless of the role selected. I have tried shadow striker, treq, advanced playmaker, attacking midfielder and even an enganche and it always ends up like the screenshot attached.
In FM23 I had shadow strikers stay fairly central to be goal threats etc but in FM24 it seems impossible to get my AMC to do what I asked. It works slightly better when there are 2 AMC together. For example AMLC and AMRC in like a 4-3-2-1 then they behave a bit more as expected.
