However, the responses in the social media feed are surprisingly upbeat. For example, Roma's club account posting, "Qualification in the bag!" and a fan saying, "Pleased to have made it through Group F?" Should they be this happy after technically being 'relegated' to a lesser continental competition?
I appreciate this is an issue that is only relevant for the first season, at least in terms of UEFA competitions. Just in case there are any other cases where a team can be 'relegated' from a cup competition to a lesser competition, I hope you can look at it.
