  • VfB Oldenburg Semi-Professional status

VfB Oldenburg has the semi-professional status in the game. However, as far as I know at least, in Germany you are considered a professional club when you successfully join the lowest professional league (3. Liga), which they did. There is no indicator that VfB Oldenburg is working under other circumstances then the other clubs in the league. Now in FM the semi-professional status means that you cannot utilize training for more then 2 days etc., which is simply not the case in real life and very annoying in game.

Is this status a bug or is there some other reason behind it?

Any source for this rule would help.

Will the club change his status automatically, if they relegate to the 4th league, or will they remain as Professional ?

The problem is that Professional/Semi-Professional labels simply do not officially exist for teams in Germany, it's more for leagues. The 3. Liga def. is a professional league, requiring all players to be under full time contracts. Source from the introduction of the league, page 3. The document also outlines some other requirements for the clubs joining the league.

Regarding the 4th divisions: Afaik there is no consensous about if the 4th divisions are to be considered professional or not and there have been legal issues about that in the past. Example

As far as i can see, all the players have Full time contracts at VfB Oldenburg.
So there is no difference, at least with contracts, if the club is semi professional or professional.[Spielerstatus: In der 3. Liga sollen ausschließlich Vertragsspieler tätig sein (keine Amateure)

I´ve read the introduction, but tbh, i can´t see any regulations for the 3. Liga, which statet the club must have a mandatory professional status.

Germany is a licensed league, maybe someone from the licensing team can provide us further informations on this.

Yeah the contracts are fine. The annoyance for me are the Training restrictions. There is no indicator to be found that Oldenburg operates differently then the other clubs in that regard.

..Because those statuses don't exist on a team level, at least as far as I know. It's simply about what league you play in and if you fulfill this leagues requirement so I think it would be fair for Oldenburg to have the same status as everyone else.

That would be nice, I might also just be on the wrong track here.

There is also a problem with the players in the the II. team of Oldenburg, they consider themselves as star player worthy if you try to make them sign a new contract.
This problem could be more widespread in Germany.
