XML Parsing Error - Editor data file

OK so long story short, ive been updating my fm2014 database for the past few days and now when I try load the file I get the message

'could not load file' 'not well formed (invalid token) at line 1'

not sure if there was a problem when saving which has corrupted it, is there any way to salvage my file or is my hard work destroyed?

In which format is the database saved? An xml error could be fixed when the file is saved as xml.

But without any kind of backup a loss is always possible. You should use "save as" after a editing session and save the file with a new name or just adding version numbers.

Thanks for the reply KUBI, the file is saved as .xml, what would I need to do to attempt to fix the issue?

Open the file with notepad and check the first line, there must be something not well formatted, could be a " that is ” or something else. Save it and load it into the editor.
