When I edit, signing players is impossible

Is it common that when you set about editing the game yourself, that when you start playing with that edit it is impossible to sign decent players? I've found after 2 or 3 seasons and raising the profile of a club that it's still very hard to sign decent players, who often accept much lower wages at other teams. Is this a common occurrence of is there something I'm doing wrong?

I don't think its anything to do with your edits tbh.

Its much harder to sign players now compared to previous versions as it should be.
