Cha Cha Cha
I have some questions regarding the brazilian competitions: Which teams do qualify for the copa libertadores? Which for copa sudamericana? Some teams do not play the national cup (copa do brasil). Why and what? Thanks
jod123
According to Wikipedia it seems the holders of the Copa do Brasil do not participate the following year. I think Brazil has 5 teams that qualify for the Copa Libertadores, the Copa do Brasil winners and I assume the top 4 in the national championship. The user PMLF will probably be able to fill you in much more.
Spleen!
You qualify for the next year's Copa do Brasil by virtue of your performance in your State Championship the previous year - after the State C'ship finishes, if you have done well enough it will tell you that you have qualified for next year's cup. I think if you look under the ND1 rules, it says which positions qualify for the Libertadores and Sudamericana.
MarcinhoFla
first through fourth in the league, and Copa do Brasil champions make the libertadores (4th makes qualifying) Best for in state make Brazilian Cup fifth throught twelfth make sudamericana. Brazilian teams can't participate in more than of these competitions:Brazilian Cup, Libertadores, Sudamericana
