Edd_boro
I have just got a new laptop and decided to start a fresh new game, however it doesn't pop up immediately and I have to go through my computer to load the set up and then it goes through the installation progress and at the end after it configures it states that there were errors whilst installing! All very annoying, I have tried turning norton off etc but still no joy, any idea's there is nothing wrong with the disk??
KP_
So are you saying the FM icon doesn't appear on your desktop? Try clicking Start, then Games.

Neji
Click the start button. Click Games. Your icon should be in there. Otherwise, it will be in c:\Program Files\Sports Interactive\Football Manager 2008 Once you find the fm.exe you can right click to make a shortcut and drag it to your desktop/quicklaunch.
