Loz McGann
I am about to buy a netbook and wanted to play FM 2008 & 2009 on Release. I have a Portable DVD ROM attached. Can anyone with a netbook (Acer Aspire One or EEPC) advise if their are any issues with the running FM08. The netbook specs are PROCESSOR – Intel Atom N270 (1.60GHz) MEMORY - 1GB DDR2 533MHz SDRAM HARD DRIVE - 120GB Hard drive (Microsoft Windows XP Home) Dedicated SD card reader for storage expansion COLOUR DISPLAY - 8.9" WSVGA High-Brightness LED Backlight Widescreen Display RESOLUTION - 1024 x 600 pixel resolution I believe the only issue would be the screen resolution spec but can be fixed be the below change to target drive "C:\Program Files\Sports Interactive\Football Manager 2008\fm.exe" --small_screen --windowed I would greatly appericate any feeback. Cheers Loz
SI Staff Ter Posted August 20, 2008 SI Staff Share Posted August 20, 2008 By forcing it to run at only 600pixels in height then in some areas of the game you are going to be missing information as there won't be enough space on the screen to display it all. Loz McGann
Thanks Ter, I think I can cope with missing a little information of the base of I can get the game experience better than my PSP version. Will FM09 - Have a netbook mode ? or will you keep the screen resoultion the same.
Loz McGann
I have a screen shot from the NetBook - The Program add's scroll bar in for additional information - Thats pretty cool. http://img509.imageshack.us/my.php?image=fm1ya1.jpg[/url] Will FM09 have same Screen Setup in Min Requirements allowing me to play that ? phnompenhandy
I get a little irritated with missing info on a small screen. For lists there is a scroll bar but for text you often get a '...' where there's no space. It especially happens with downloaded skins. I live with it since the benefits outweigh the frustrations, but if you can, a bigger screen and better resolution is better.
