Richie Brill Posted August 12, 2008 Share Posted August 12, 2008 I was Czech Republic manager doing well and the Newcastle position was unsafe so naturally I declared interest. Kevin Keegan was then fired and I was approached. After deciding on terms I took the position with the club rock bottom of the league and facing an uphill battle to stay up. A few months later and they stay in the Premier Division by the skin of their teeth (beating Bolton 1-0 with a 94th minute winner, any other result would of resigned them to the Championship) and then all of a sudden my job was under threat!
