The white square

How do u get rid of the white square in the game, I have the backgrounds loaded but there is a white square over it.

What white square? Can you explain more please :confused:

when playing a match, there is a white square in the background over the background pic. Its as standard in the game but I'm sure you can remove it somehow so u can see the background pic clearly.

What skin are you using and do you have a screenshot?

Normal standard skin, its the big square on matchday, between the picture of the stadium in the background and the score

Do you mean a white box like this around the pitch?

yeah thats it but its a FULL white box on the main match screen when there isnt any highlights

Right this means you need to edit some of the graphics that your skin uses. You need to edit the files in the graphics/boxes/titled folder for your skin. There should be 18 files called paper_

These are what make up the white box you see. Now you can either get rid of the white box completely, by replacing each of these files with a 1x1 pixel png file that is transparent, or you can edit the files making them more transparent so your background shows through, whilst still leaving the text readable.

To edit the graphics, you'll need a graphics program - Paint.net is free and easy to use. Now you just need to make your graphics more transparent, in paint.net open the graphic, double click the image in the layers panel to the bottom right and adjust the Opacity (255-solid, 0-transparent) (You may want to add your background to the image, and drop the layer below (click the down arrow in the layers panel) so you can see what it looks like).

Once you are happy remember the value you picked and apply it to all 18 images, then save the image.

Then Load your game up, go into the Preferences -> Display & Sound menu, untick use skin cache, and tick always reload skin and hopefully you should be fine.
