son_of_sosidge
I don't know if this is widely known but there seems to be a strong link between players gaining match fitness pre-season and whether they are actually starting matches. For the first time this season I am doing a strict 11-man mass substitution at halftime. However, despite playing as much football as the starting 11, the subs are not getting match fit as quickly. So, rotate your starting 11 to get match fitness throughout the squad. Just a quick tip.
davestu
Yeah I noticed this too and instead of 11 man mass subs at half-time, I rotate my starting 11 and make mass subs at 60-70 mins instead. It works much better to get all your players match fit for the season start.
llama3
yeah noticed how my subs fitness was worse than my starting XI in pre-season a few months ago, so try getting them to play whole matches most of the time.
