attributes vs roles-duties

hi,how is the best role and duty for every player decided in team reports,scout reports and assistant manager's reports?

example "a player operates best as full back when given a duty of support". what attributes decide for this? (is there a link for a thread)

Tactics > Player Instructions

If you pick a role and a duty - it will highlight the required attributes.

So the assistant will simply tell you which role suits best accordingly.

I spent quite some time creating a spreadsheet for FM10/FM11. I would have to manually enter all my squads attributes, then the spreadsheet would tell me their best position.

I suspect that it's purely a highest total decision though. My staff like to tell me that my entire midfield are best at being deep lying or advanced playmakers, even though most of them have poor creativity and decision making.
