Database Size?

Ok I have an Acer 5735 laptop & when I load FM11.3 it comes up as recommended players of 75000.

Now what I would like to know is I understand that to make the game run faster I should stay within these settings, but, is there a top amount of players I could load on a career save & the game runs OK albeit a little more slowly?

crank it up m8 you'll be fine. Retain as many players as possible, but run less leagues. That way you can run a nearly full database without much slowing down.

Am running England down to league One (Am Championship club) and maxed out on Custom DB to 212000

This has promted me to query. When youve ran a few seasons. Is there a way to tell how many players are currently in the game? As it wouldnt always stay the same surely? As so many regens and I doubt as many would retire....

The player search screen will give you a rough idea, but only if you have excellent scouting knowledge. I'm pretty sure that roughly the same number of players are kept throughout the game.

Well I was thinking that, but sometimes players dont come up in the player search, but suppose this would explain the scouting knowledge bit
