Sinner264
I remember being asked couple of times during my FM career how deep I'd follow certain competitions, like World Cup, Champions League and so on. For example, I could set up to which part of the competition I'd be able to watch matches in full, which ones I could completely disregard etc. Where are those settings? Sinner264
Oh, the irony; it's the summer of 2012 and I've completely missed the European Championship due to, most probably, not letting the game know I'm extremely interested to watch the matches somewhere at the beginning. Damn!!!

dfgrigg
There are two settings that will do what you want: Subscriptions and Detail Level. You can access Subscriptions in the drop-down menu from your name in the toolbar, and then you can select competitions that you would like to receive news reports about. If you click the Categories button next to the competition name you can fine tune this, so you can select to receive news reports about matches but not about awards, for example. Detail level determines whether the games are calculated in full detail (which will enable you to watch them) or low detail (which won't). This is also in a drop-down menu - I forget what it's called, but it's the same menu that contains Preferences and Save Game etc.
