Premiership registration and the close of the transfer window

I've ran into an annoyance that I am not sure is a bug or just an annoyance.

I signed Dzeko (inevitable, yes, I know) one day after the Premiership registration day (the day where you say who will be playing for your team). It stated in this screen that at a later date, providing I have spare spaces, I can add other players. However, I am just about to play my first Premiership game and I see that 'Unavailable' due to not being registered.

So, I have some questions around this:

1. Are the game mechanics working that I can by a player before the deadline that can not play in my team?

2. Is there a way to add him right now?

3. Do I have to wait until the next period to add him?

Annoyingly, my last save was in the middle of both of these things.... window selection day and Dzeko signing tomorrow morning

When in your squad screen, there should be a tab near the top of the screen that says squad registration, click on that and you should be able to register him on the next screen.

I'm not playing the game right now, but can I do that after having played my first game or is it now to late?
