Transfer Policy

I just want to get a basic idea of what the FM universe's transfer habits are like.

Do you target youths and build em up or do you go for tried and tested battlers or what?

First season: I usually tend to look at my team and think what I need, spending the vast amount of my budget fixing the squad to my liking. Any money left over is usually used for youth, or saved for the January window.

From then on, I try to focus on youth, and spend big if I'm replacing someone, or I've decided I need a certain position sorting out.

A bit of both.

Some more experienced players along with some 16/17 year olds that I can sell on at a later date if they dont make the grade.

Well playing in the lower leagues (Fleetwood Town been there for 8 seasons now sat 1st in league 1 atm) I am forced to sign players on frees which usually means the younger players and train them up. The most I have paid for a player was a defender who cost me £26k with a 20% sell on clause. Had him for a season then had to sell him for £300k plus a 2)% sell on clause which is not bad for a year.
