Edle
Does this happen too often on FM? Angelo Basinas Seydou Keita Ruben Baraja Pedro Munitis All players I hve signed for free transfers. Admittely they are closer to retiring but I am still only a team that is expected to get relegated in the second division. So is this correct? Or is it too easy to sign big players on small wages? speople
Dunno, but as an English lv 11 side who can only offer amateur contracts to players (i.e no wages, and no tranny budget at start of season), I find it all to easy to sign bulgarians who are way above lv 11 standard. swed151
I find signing players on loan a little too easy. Just fill your team with loan players in a league that has no loan restrictions and dominate the league.
lolshorts
i brought Beckham, Diarra and Viera to Everton for under $1 million each, which I thought was pretty good.

Exactly what I did with Clyde, then got to the SPL and only had seven players on full time contracts. So went to Leverkusen.
Buttgammon
It seems to work for some people but not for me. I've just joined QPR after the end of the 2012-13 season. Didier Drogba had just been released by Chelsea and I thought I'd try my luck with signing him but he wasn't interested regardless of the amount of wages I offered. League One must have been too much of a step down for him as he ended up at Newcastle (they're a steady but unexceptional Premiership team again on my save). I did get an ageing Jermaine Jenas on a free at my Wrexham side in the Championship about seven or eight years down the line on FM09, come to think of it, but moving down one division isn't as big as the drop some other players may take.
