Firstly your router, is it compatible? this is not as strange as it sounds, some laptops and PCs have compatibility issues with given network connections. Also check that your signal does not need resetting. Try to reset your router, if you then get connection then its a compatibility issue, so try and change security network features. If it still doesnt work then it could be your network card. This can also be an issue. Try those steps, somewhere in there will lie the solution.
