ok. lets see what graphics card you've got. click the start button then click run and type in dxdiag and hit enter. When the window appears press the tab at the top that says display. Now, where it says "chip type" you'll see the name of your graphics card eg geforce xxxx. post that.

install a program called CCleaner and run it it will clean your junk files also it has a registry cleaner run it too

link :http://www.filehippo.com/download_ccleaner/

also defrag yor hard drive

http://www.filehippo.com/download_defraggler/

,do you have windows updated? is your laptop with the power cable on?

also run this program and monitor your laptop temperatures this could be overheating

http://www.techpowerup.com/downloads/SysInfo/Real_Temp/

pay atention to it ( you need to run fm in window mode) and tell me the temperatures , right before the crash

Edit : i doub its ram since fm 2009 is fine , overheating could be the cause , try shuting down your laptop for half an hour to cool down

when i tried to change the preferences in FM it wouldnt let me change to window mode all i could select was the size settings (i.e 1034x60 or somethin like that, you get my drift)

i edit my post check it please

place this on your launch options -small_screen -windowed (or on the target part on the game shortcut if you dont use steam)

Were exactly is the Launch options? I only ask because im scared it will shut down again if i dont find it straight away hence having to reboot again and risk the same process

Right click the game shortcut (on the desktop, the quick launch bar or in the start menu)

Go to the "Shortcut" tab

In the "Target" area, add the following: "-small_screen -windowed" without the quotes

this is in the target area "C:\Program Files\Sports Interactive\Football Manager 2010\fm.exe" so put -small_screen -windowed after that?

GOD WHY AM I SO DUMB???????
