phnompenhandy
In a previous World cup there was a Korean player John Motson was desperately trying not to pronounce - U Suk Bum.
TigerJoe
Would've been funny if he did just pronounce it how it sounds. "And U Suk Bum is on the ball and he's been tackled from behind."

BodhiD
Both Phuck (Thai) and Bum (Korean) are not Japanese names. Nakamura, Nakata and Inamoto are all Japanese names though.
TigerJoe
Yes they may be more common in Thailand and Korea but the nationality of Kim Hak-Bum is Japanese and he has no second nationality.

Fire Island
Some of the regen names do amuse me, I have had quite a few funny ones over the years
BodhiD
Yes they may be more common in Thailand and Korea but the nationality of Kim Hak-Bum is Japanese and he has no second nationality. Kim is still a Korean name. He'll probably be a third generation ethnic Korean whose taken Japanese nationality. Very unusual to keep the Korean name though.
