moneyhero
just wondering what is more beneficial to a fringe players (specifically youngsters).. A. in the reserve team playing reserve football (what i generally do) B. in the first team made avalible for reserves irl B would be the obvious awnser training with the first team squad can surely only improve you as a player however on fm will this be taken into effect? it seems to me the player before to long just starts believing he is a first teamer and complains of lack of first team football. not sure what the best option for my fringe / youngsters is. Stevicus
A and B are the same really, and the squad all train together, unless you put them all on different schedules. Loan them out, or use a rotation system.
Ediocy
I do not think there is much of a difference in your case, if none at all. If that player's role in his contract is specified as "young player", "hot prospect" or "backup" I believe he would not feel unhappy if left in the reserves. If it were higher, then he should be expected to make noises as to why he is left in the reserves. Besides, if you were to just promote him to the first-team squad but do not play him in your competitive matches, I think that would not lead to him feeling like he were a part of the first-team at all.
