kidhander1983
I am not sure this is really a bug because the sample is small, but I can't manage to sign a player for more than 2 years. For young players, it makes little sense. I play as St. Louis Blues, and Tarasenko's entry level contract is running out. He wants 2-year, 3 millions per. I think this is unrealistic. IRL I think he would get like 6 millions a year with a very long contract, 6-8 years. What is your experience?
TBL-Manimal
Those two-year contract are very common IRL. Called bridge-contracts. However, Tarasenko should get a long contract right away as most star players do
