AIK
Has something changed in how the game keeps the number of players up? I have a DDT-file that loads many players from smaller nations around the world as I like to have a diverse pool of players in the game and all national teams (including youth NT) full of real/non-grey players. Previous years it were no problems with newgens. The game filled up the smaller teams with plenty of newgens each year. This year however most smaller nations almost completely stopped to produce newgens after the first year. It seems like when a player from a smaller nation retires, a bigger nation gets one extra newgens. It completely destroys the diversity in the save when all African newgens comes from only a handful of nations. Nations like Algeria, Egypt or Ivory Coast gets well over 25 newgens each year while countries like Angola, Mocambique or Kenya gets something like 2-3 newgens each year. Even though the DDT I use made sure to load almost an equal amount of players at the beginning of the save. Something else I've noted is that teams from non-playable nations rarely (almost never) renew contracts with players. I'm three years in and teams that had a full squad in the beginning now only have a handful of players in their squads.
AIK
No responses. I used FMRTE to scout a little and made a list of some selected countries. The first number indicates the amount of players in March 2013 (Sweden start date) and the second number indicates the number of players in March 2017, four years later. --- Afghanistan - 63 - 67 Algeria - 462 - 459 Angola - 296 - 141 Australia - 330 - 280 Brazil - 10210 - 10535 Canada - 1001 - 916 China - 730 - 525 Cote D'Ivorie - 448 - 431 Cuba - 113 - 67 Czech Republic - 413 - 394 El Salvador - 211 - 189 England - 3050 - 2888 Ethiopia - 152 - 68 Finland - 505 - 483 Ghana - 582 - 626 Guatemala - 172 - 162 India - 469 - 427 Japan - 985 - 1022 Jordan - 147 - 96 Kenya - 267 - 130 Libya - 100 - 79 Malaysia - 506 - 481 Mocambique - 255 - 138 Namibia - 89 - 46 New Zeeland - 170 - 146 Niger - 86 - 87 Nigeria - 666 - 696 Norway - 575 - 590 Peru - 405 - 434 Qatar - 260 - 163 Russia - 737 - 763 Somalia - 46 - 48 South Africa - 547 - 552 Spain - 4888 - 4802 Sweden - 6807 - 6612 Thailand - 218 - 188 Turkey - 603 - 571 United States - 4815 - 4523 * Angola has lost over 50% of its players. * Ghana one of very few that has gained. * Cuba, Ethiopia, Kenya and Mocambique has had large decreases in the number of players. All of them are to be considered minors, but still. I load a fair number of players from those countries because I want to have players from there. I can see the football map being re-painted in the comming 25 years with many new countries becoming good at playing it. But that requires players... * Major countries have about the same amount of players for both years while minor countries has almost always lost a large amount of their players. However, almost all of the countries that has retained their amount of players are either loaded as active or view-only. --- I think this is very sad. It creates a very dead game world. Combine that with that all teams that are not playing in an active league have almost empty squads by now. They simply don't renew contracts. Even view-only clubs have almost empty squads. It's not uncommon in my save to stumble upon international regulars with no clubs since they are from a country that I havn't loaded as active. The activity in the game world has always been a problem, but I've never experienced it as this bad as it is this year.
