New manager for Dortmund

With rumours circulating on who would be the next Borussia Dortmund manager, many people expected Thomas Schaaf to be given the job. However, it has now been announced that the new man at the helm is 26 year old Dylan Patton. Patton, who was capped 25 times for his native Scotland now hopes he can lead his new club to glory. Patton only retired towards the end of last season after an horrific injury suffered last October meant he would no longer be able to play professional football. Now the ex-Celtic captain has said he hopes the transition from player to manager will be easy as he takes on his new role.

In his first press conference unveiling him as manager he said he can't wait to get started and has said his aim is to challenge for the Bundesliga title straight away, where they are a massive 15 points behind leaders Bayern Munich sitting in 6th position. Patton knows how loved ex manager Jurgen Klopp was, the new Barcelona manager has won the last 2 league titles in Germany and Patton has stated he wants to build on the success for BVB.

Patton knows he will need to get the team firing straight away, and having only scored 17 goals in the first 13 league games, it looks like his first signing may be a striker. Talking about the attacking options, he said he would want someone in the same mould of former player Robert Lewandowski who left last summer. Now the fans will have to wait and see, with high expectations, the fans will want success and Patton will know he needs to deliver.
