Help with default logo's

22 posts in this topic

In a new database that someone created in the editing forum they have changed all the records etc so that Leeds dont start with -15 points, however when in the game Leeds have default logo's and kits. What i would like to know is if there is any way of changing this so Leeds have the proper logo's and kits in game ?

Please help....

Thanks :)

Have you got any logo packs etc installed?

If so just add Leeds if you can find some to those ones and you're good to go.

I'm guessing that to get rid of Leed's deduction he did some team swapping which has changed Leed's unique ID so the game isn't picking up their logos.

The other method would be drawn out and could lead to problems if something goes wrong (not major problems but probably a reinstall). Post back if you want to know how to do it but be aware if you follow my instructions it's on you if it causes instability in your game :)

Go here http://www.sigames.com/downloads.php?type=download&id=383&file=479 and download the Resource Archiver. It'll be a rar file so download it to your desktop and then right click and select extract here. If I remember correctly another rar is created so do the right click extract again with the new rar that appears.

Double click the resource archiver.exe to run the program.

Select extract archive.

Locate the graphics fmf in C:\Program Files\Sports Interactive\Football Manager 2008\data and click it to highlight it. Then click select and it will ask you to choose a location. Remember where you picked so you can find it easily. It takes a while to extract and may appear to freeze but just leave it be.

Do this part and I'll get back to you with the next in about 10 minutes or so :)

What I need to know at this moment is the exact custom stuff you have installed.

Do you have a custom logo kit so that for example the Premiership badges appear when you look at the Premiership table?

Do you have a custom kit pack installed?

Can you take a screenshot of this location D:\My Documents\Sports Interactive\Football Manager 2008\graphics and post it.

Do any of those folders contain Leeds related logos/kits etc? What you basically have to do is find the config.xml file related to each of those custom graphics that links to Leed's original unique ID (671) and change it to the new Leeds unique ID.

To open the config.xml file do not double click. Right click and select open with, then choose notepad. Then find any unique ID 671 vaues, change it to the unique ID Leeds has in your current game, save it and close the file. Then reload the skin in Options > Preferences > Display and Sound, tick 'Always reload skin on confirm' and then hit confirm. Note that this will stay fixed if you load a new game where Leeds go back to being 671.

Let's do this step by step. Start with the kits as that will be easiest.

Open up the Coca Cola League 1 folder.

Right click the config.xml and select open with notepad.

Copy what's in that and then paste it in your next post.

You are correct.

In these lines

<record from="leeds_home" to="graphics/pictures/team/671/kits/home"/>

<record from="leeds_away" to="graphics/pictures/team/671/kits/away"/>

change the 671 value to whatever Leeds unique ID is in your game (Preferences > Options > Display and Sound > Tick show unique IDs). Click File > Save, close the notepad file. Then reload the skin in Options > Preferences > Display and Sound, tick 'Always reload skin on confirm' and then hit confirm. Note that this will stay fixed if you load a new game where Leeds go back to being 671.

Do this and report back, then we'll move onto the logos.

To get the logos etc that come with the game you need to start by doing what I posted previously

Go here http://www.sigames.com/downloads.php...d=383&file=479 and download the Resource Archiver.

Post back if the kit thing worked and also when you have extracted the fmf file as above.

Also go into the 'small' folder in your user folder in the image you posted previously and cut and paste whatever is contained in config files there as you did with the kits one.

The kit thing worked :D

Thanks a lot, the small folder contains all the premier league logo's and nothing else, the kits are in the game but the logo is still the same :(

Go here

http://www.sigames.com/downloads.php?type=view&id=383

You'll see 'PC Version' written in blue on that page. This is a link so click on that.

This will bring you to a new page where you'll see 'You have selected to download PC version...'. PC version here is also in blue and again is a link so click on that.

Depending on you're set up you may get a security warning from IE. Point your mouse over this warning bar so that it becomes highlighted (blue background), click it and click 'Download file...'.

Now you'll get the usual IE download file interface. Click 'save', click 'desktop' in the left pane, and then click the 'Save' button to the right.

When it's finished downloading a file will appear on your desktop 479.zip (the .zip may not be visible). It will look like 3 books (green, blue and purple) with a purple belt around them. Right click this file and select 'extract here'. Another zip file will appear called 'FM Resource Archiver- PC.zip'. Right click this and select 'extract here' again.

When it is done some new stuff will appear on your desktop.

- resource archiver.exe

- dbghelp.dll

- data (a folder)

- Resource Archiver User Guide.pdf

Post back when you do this.

Also post back what Leeds United's unique ID is in your game.

Sorry mate, slightly confused here. Did you extract the resource archiver zip file to your data folder?

Can you take a screenshot of exactly where the 'resource archiver.exe' is?

I extracted the files from the program to the data folder that now looks like this :

datafolderpx5.png

I extracted the .rar archive that you told me to twice to the desktop that now looks like :

desktopxa0.png

Although they can't be seen very clearly the files on the 1st screenshot are the files i was talking about a few minutes ago, i guess i have to open them with some sort of program ?

You see that icon resource archiver on your desktop, double click that to open the program.

Select extract archive.

Locate the graphics fmf in C:\Program Files\Sports Interactive\Football Manager 2008\data and click it to highlight it. Then click select and it will ask you to choose a location. Remember where you picked so you can find it easily and also do not select the FM installation folder. Put it in My Documents. It takes a while to extract and may appear to freeze but just leave it be.

Go to the graphics folder you just extracted. If you put it in My Documents navigate to here

My Documents\graphics\pictures\logos\small\clubs\eng\league one

Copy the leeds.PNG image and paste it in here

D:\My Documents\Sports Interactive\Football Manager 2008\graphics\small.

Now open the config file in that 'small' folder (the one you posted previously) as before and add this line

<record from="leeds" to="graphics/pictures/club/1394631386/icon"/>

underneath this line

<record from="737" to="graphics/pictures/club/737/icon"/>

so that the config looks like this

<record>
<!-- resource manager options -->

<!-- don't preload anything in this folder -->
<boolean id="preload" value="false"/>

<!-- turn off auto mapping -->
<boolean id="amap" value="false"/>

<!-- picture mappings -->

<record from="679" to="graphics/pictures/club/679/icon"/>
<record from="680" to="graphics/pictures/club/680/icon"/>
<record from="685" to="graphics/pictures/club/685/icon"/>
<record from="688" to="graphics/pictures/club/688/icon"/>

<record from="737" to="graphics/pictures/club/737/icon"/>
<record from="leeds" to="graphics/pictures/club/1394631386/icon"/>
</list>
</record>

Save the config file and close it.

Reload the skin and check to see if the icon now appears next to Leeds in fixtures and in the league table.
