  1. I joined Bayern mid way through the third season from PSG. During the fourth season I won the Champions League, knocking out Barcelona which I was pretty pleased with. Question though, I've been playing Alaba as a AML yet irl he seems to be played mostly as a left back, at least recently, which have you guys found to be his best position?
  2. Never managed him but he always ends up going something for big money, seen him at Man City, Barcelona and Real Madrid. Always looks like a pretty damn excellent player too.
  3. I've decided to concentrate on defence first. My two signings in the pre season are Jan Vertonghen, 3m (euros) up front with 6 over 48 months, and Federico Balzaretti, 3m up front with 12m over 48 months. In terms of tactics I've gone pretty defensive, three different formations being trained, 4-1-2-2-1, a DLP DM set to D, 2 centre midfielders, 2 W set to A, 1 P set to A. The other two are a flat normal 4-4-2 and 3-5-2, 3 centre defenders, one DLP DM, flat midfield 4 and 2 forwards. The pre season has gone alright so far, 2 wins, 1 draw and 2 losses. Both of those losses were without most of my main first team players. We'll see how I do in the league, be interesting to try and match Juventus' form so far this season.
  4. I've just started a save with Juventus as I had grown bored of my various other games. I want to build a mostly Italian team with preferably, over time, young players. Any suggestions as to transfer targets or tactics? I've had a couple of saves in Italy before but none on 12.2.
  5. Nation: Any other then England Division: Top 2 or maybe 3 Europe: Don't care Media Predication: Don't care Board Expectations: Mid to top table Transfer Budget: Good, £10mish Wage Budget: Again good, enough to sign a few players with decent wages Finances: Good, with an owner who will invest over time Other: A fallen giant, so to speak, looking at rebuilding. Not PSG or AC Milan however.
  6. Kind of think that Tello should have been improved a lot more.
  7. Interesting to see how it works. As Barcelona manager you have control over the players in Barcelona B, you can promote them etc. You can buy/sell and take control over contracts as well. I would have a look at Valencia regardless, decent finances but nowhere near Malagas, however you have a good young squad with a lot of talent.
  8. Messi on a free has to be the best signing possible in FM, my hat off to you good sir.
  9. Start of the second season, I won the Coupe de la ligue and the French Cup in my first season but I lost out of the league. OM won the league by 6 points in the end. So far in the second season I've won the French Champions Trophy. I bought Angel Di Maria, Yohan Cabaye, Martin Marvin among others. Started well so far winning 5 out of 5. First Champions League game coming up.
  10. I haven't seen Mourinho get sacked in any of my saves on this year's FM, well done! Sounds like you have quite a line up.
  11. Irl he signed for Napoli and is an excellent player. From what I've seen in FM, though I haven't managed him myself, he does reasonably well in Portugal. On two separate saves he has signed for Sporting Lisbon, scores 15+ a season.
  12. I had great fun with them in FM11. Falcao was one of my favourite players in that game, shame they sold him. I'm very tempted to start another save with them but I'm enjoying playing as PSG at the moment. The only thing that would concern me is the lack of Portuguese players. This was a problem in FM11 as well, but there are even less at the club now. Still great OP, Porto are a fun team to manage and very entertaining to watch!
  13. I had that problem with Messi in FM11, I'm sorry but I never found a way to solve it and FM12 came out before his contract expired. You could try switching your budget from transfer to wage, or ask for the board for a larger wage budget. If that doesn't work then I'm afraid I can't help you.
  14. I started playing him as a Complete forward set to attack in a 4-1-2-2-1 style formation. He sucked for the first half a dozen games until I changed him to Trequartista, since then he was amazing. That is surely the only way you should play him in FM. Oh and I was wrong in my first post he has scored 71 not 70
  15. I'm at the end of March in my first year and am facing a massive overhaul in the summer. Several first team members are needed as I'm currently in second 13 points behind OM, with a game in hand which is away to Lyon. So my question to you all is how much did you get given for a transfer budget for the summer of 2012? MrSundlofer Rachid Saidi looks a very good player indeed, I'm impressed with how you've managed to develop him, good job!
