After a longer than usual absence owing to both a badly sprained ankle and then a horrendous passing bug, I've just published my second post in my FM blog covering my save with Partick Thistle, the team I support.
A lot to get through in it with action in both the League and the League Cup, having been drawn with Motherwell at home there's a chance of an upset.

Fancy having a word with your Celtic/Queen's Park researchers about Johnny Kenny, please?
He's absolutely not this good in real life, in fact he hasn't even started a game for Queen's Park since he joined.

From playing in Scotland, there needs to be more interaction between Head Researchers and the Celtic, Rangers and Hearts ones over how they rate their players in their B Teams.
For example, Johnny Kenny is absolutely flying in my save as Partick Thistle while on loan from Celtic with more goals than games played, when he's rounded on by QP fans in real life for being terrible, having not scored in ten games.0 -
Been far more active than usual on my save with Alemannia Aachen, which you can read about on the blog here.
Most recent edition (March 2024) was an eventful one, with VAR involved in game decisions most weeks as well as important games against the sides around us.
There is also some stuff at the end about the Scotland National Team, who've had a bit of an eventful recent turn of events in this save.

Hi lads, wanted to post this here but I've discovered a potentially annoying bug in the editor when attempting to swap registered teams over in the Europa Conference League.
I wanted to swap Hibernian and Aberdeen for Motherwell and Dundee United but when I do that, the competition generates a third Scottish club, usually the one you replace either of the 2021/2 qualifiers with.
Which section would I be best putting a topic detailing this?0 -
Just finished my second season managing Alemannia Aachen.
We got promoted fairly comfortably last season from the Regionalliga West and also won the Mittelrheinpokal.
Finances are a bit weird, I'm £2m in the red but have £40,000 free in wages so I'm having to deal in loans and frees still.
Anyway, it was a dramatic season that ended up going to the final day and you can read about it here.1 -
I'm unable to get the players.fmf file to load up in the Editor as I was hoping to copy over the data for the Japanese players that Celtic have signed, any idea why?

Just a quick enquiry really, as I don't know what specific kind of issue this is and don't want to start a thread somewhere that's in the wrong place.
You see, I've made my own team from scratch and placed them in the fourth tier of the Scottish eague system.
Fast forward one year and we've had a group of youths come through, who have no fixtures to play aside from friendlies and there was no option for us to join a league.
In addition to this, I had a goalkeeper injury and brought my U18 'keeper up to sit on the bench - I am now unable to move him back to the U18 squad and he's been there listed as perpetually available for the U18 team as that's the only way I can get it to work around.
Is this a Scottish specific data issue, is this a bug in the game or have I not been thorough enough in creating my team?
Like I said, I don't want to start a thread that's ultimately in the wrong place as I know you guys have plenty of those issues on the regular, I just want to if there's a solution and what it is or if I've discovered an issue.

Bongani Zungu, on loan at Rangers from Amiens, is missing a place of birth.
He was born in Duduza, Gauteng, which is in the game.0 -
Having a rather weird issue with being unable to launch the editor in full-screen mode.
I click on Full Screen from the Display Mode drop-down menu and after clicking on it, nothing changes despite the same thing working fine for the actual game itself.
I've recently updated my graphics drivers and uninstalled then reinstalled the Editor via Steam to no avail, does anyone know how to fix it?0 -
I'm currrently having a bit of of an issue connecting the game to YouTube.
When I go to sign in with Google after clicking on YouTube in the Social Networks section of preferences it tells me that this browser or app is insecure.
Considering I am using Google Chrome and have a Google account which saves my preferences and logins, including to YouTube, I find this extremely strange.
I should also note I tried Microsoft Edge to no avail also,
Does anyone know how to remedy this issue?

Partick Thistle are missing a few players, albeit on the younger side but they've been in recent squads and one has recently made his debut.

All players are born in 2003 and are over the minimum age requirement. Lyon has since made his senior debut while Owens and Ocholi have both recently been on the bench, the latter two are central midfielders while Ocholi is a striker.1 -
Stuart Bannigan at Partick Thistle appears to have been given a random number for his penalty taking attribute.
Stuart has taken eight penalties in his time at Thistle and scored six of those, two of those eight [One miss] coming in the one game.
Hardly suggesting that he gets a 18/20 or anything like that but it should be much better.

Whoever your Airdrieonians researcher is, the club were not formed in 1878 but in 2002 after the original Airdrieonians went out of business, it's literally on the team's Wikipedia page.

Just finished a season with Thistle there and came 2nd, 9 points behind eventual winners Falkirk who took 5 points off me in the three meetings - about right.
However, Alloa Athletic finishing comfortably third in the Championship and Dundee finishing 9th? Come on, Alloa have been overpowered in the last two games now, it's getting ridiculous.
I understand being able to nick a result here and there and being able to survive, but third? Balance needs to be struck surely.0 -
First Partick Thistle observations:
- Declan Glass still at club on loan, suffered an injury in pre-season and was sent back to Dundee United
- Mason McCready (GK) is missing from the game, has been on the bench in the last two league matches
- Shea Gordon is missing a 'Makes late run into the box' trait, it's his trademark thing.
- Rhys Breen is numbered 12 when it should be 15, subsequently, Kieran Wright should be #12
- As alluded to in the first point, Blair Spittal is #6 instead of Declan Glass

Hello all, trying to create as realistic update for Scotland as possible with the database and have run across an issue with squad numbers, which are elective outside the top two divisions.
However, several clubs in League One use them - Cove Rangers, Dumbarton, Clyde, East Fife, Falkirk, Montrose, Partick Thistle and Peterhead
In League Two, the numbers are smaller but Brechin City. Edinburgh City, Stenhousemuir and Stranraer still use them.
I have endeavoured to all ends to try and allow squad numbers for both divisions as it's easier to have them all use it in-game as opposed to none as that's much less accurate but both basic competition rules AND the Advanced Rules editor yield absolutely nothing - how do I fix this issue?
I have attached the fmf file I am using to test out these rules with the view to releasing it, I have no idea what I am doing wrong.0 -
Hi all,
Currently in the midst of doing an update for the 2020/21 season but I have hit a snag in England - The National League South.
It will run with 21 teams in 2020/21 as a knock on effect of Bury's expulsion with only one team from the South being relegated etc. etc.
I have attached my file, as I am looking for advice on how to change the minimum amount of teams from 22 to 21 in order to fix the issue because I just cannot see Bury being readmitted to the North and a team being moved over to the South to compensate.
This is the only issue that I have, and this is all I wish to change, how do I set up this in the Nation Rules to allow the English Leagues to work as they are meant to?0
