FM provides hours upon hours of distraction/immersion/fun every year at a bargain price point.
There is a lot of missing perspective in this thread. I'd like to say I'm shocked, but the Internet is truly a cesspool at times.
On topic - new features look good to me
I bet you’re the kind of person who tells people that their problems don’t matter because there’s a war in Ukraine. Life is nuanced, and people like you are why they will continue to take us for mugs.

Pleasantly surprised by the negative reactions. Here to a degree - even more so on YouTube. I started saying the game had stagnated before most. At that point, I was shouted down by the vast majority. Slowly but surely, more of the fanbase are waking up. This headline features video is a joke. Even by recent years low standards. 40 minutes of absolute guff, and a hope that we’ll all be dazzled by their CL license. They’ve been giving us the same game for years now, and it won’t change until the fanbase changes their habits. Stop giving them your money without thinking every year if you think they don’t deserve it! The only other thing I can see shaking them out of this complacency is competition. One or the other desperately needs to happen, or they’ll just keep taking us for mugs every year.

No, it really isn't. It's part of the bigger picture - focusing on you as manager more and what you experience. So less spreadsheet and more realism. These things weren't randomly changed and we've had a massive amount of changes. Give the demo a try when it's out. This (FM21) has the power to instantly change your mind as soon as you fire up the first match, though almost everything (even the start up screen!) looks and feels better.
Yes it really is. You’ve relabelled tones with gestures. It’s seemingly this years “headline” feature which is both sad and hilarious. It’s nobody’s fault. The pressure to produce a game yearly makes this inevitable. But I’ll be keeping my money in my pocket for a second year in a row until I’m given sufficient reason to upgrade. I genuinely hope that’s next year. FM desperately needs competition. They’ve got to the stage where they can do this yearly and they know it’ll still sell like hot cakes.

Good grief. What an awful change. Further encourages me to stick with my FM19 save. And I used to be a year in year out FM buyer religiously. We’re at the point now where we’re seeing change for changes sake and relabelling features is being called new features. The game is now a glorified yearly squad update.

Literally anything. FM 20 is FM 19 with some stuff moved around and some stuff renamed as far as I can see from the "headline (lol) features".

Been calling for an overhaul of the communication side of the game for years. The idea that you can't say anything to a player that's got the hump with you is ridiculous. You should be able to pick up the phone and talk to any manager at any time for any reason too. If anything, communication in the game has gone backwards. It should be much more open than it currently is.

@QWERTYOP Be disappointed all you like with the announcements so far, but I strongly suggest you rethink telling the hard working people at SI they are "half arsing" things. That crosses a line.
It's my opinion, and I'm perfectly entitled to it. You don't have to like that opinion. They wouldn't get away with "headline features" like this is they had genuine competition.

If you mean Twitter or [shudder] Reddit, they're hardly any better when it comes to sensible, informed comments that aren't aren't more than 100 miles wide of the mark.
I mean literally anywhere you care to mention. It's not hard to find. If anyone can remember a more widely panned upcoming FM release, I'd like to know, genuinely. Please don't misunderstand where I'm coming from - I WANT to be hyped for the new release! I WANT reason to buy it! But they've failed. I don't mind years when the new release isn't revolutionary. At all. In fact, I've previously said I don't like them changing things for the sake of it. But previously, even on years when the new game isn't a revamp, there's always been SOMETHING to grab my attention. Perhaps last years best selling point for me for example was the Germany license. But this year is just full of nothing. They've moved stuff around a bit and called that "headline features". I think the most telling thing about this years release is the understated nature of the "headline features" reveal. It's normally an all singing, all dancing affair when they're (understandably) shouting from the rooftops. This year, we had a quick post on social media and that was that. I think even they know this years features are really weak. I'm hoping against hope that S.I still have something up their sleeve to give me a reason to part with my 40 quid, but I will not just buy the new game like a zombie without a reason to. That will just further encourage them that they can get away with years like this.

That's YouTube comments for you.
I’d agree with you if it was JUST being panned on YouTube, but it’s not. By any stretch of the imagination. It’s basically everywhere except on this MB where the hardcore reside.

Comments under the latest video release on YouTube make for sobering reading. I genuinely can’t remember a more widely panned upcoming FM release. Can anybody else? Genuine question.
Will S.I listen? Doubt it. They will sell truckloads of copies regardless and carry on half-arsing it until they get some genuine competition. Sad that it’s got to this. I’m always hyped for the new release by now, but I genuinely don’t see any reason to buy FM20 at the moment. I’ve pre-ordered the new FM for as long as I can remember, but unless my current FM19 save corrupts or something, I’m pretty sure I’ll be sticking with FM19 for another year. Pull your fingers out, lads.

Could be a unique thing to do. How do you re create the stadium tho say they buy gig lane etc.
AFC Bury etc. old stadium but the pheonix club
Gigg looks extremely unlikely in the now near-certain event of the death of Bury FC and the hopeful formation of a phoenix club. Will cost millions. More likely is a ground share with Radcliffe FC.

Of course I do. Realism. No point having scouts if you can see everything about every player just by clicking on their profile.

Already in the game. End of thread.

I'd love to know what professional designers they consulted with, the purple is god awful and is not associated with football in any way. Makes it look like an album cover from the early 90s.
I'm a fan of the purple. It's kind on the eyes. I hate bright skins. This is a game you can literally spend hours at a time playing.

These are the "headline features"? Really?! Lol. "Just give them FM 19.5, lads. People will buy it no matter what".

Their first "announcement" is some eco nonsense about the packaging. Brilliant....

Some senior players can play for the u20s (just make them available). Apart from that, loan players out to reduce the numbers.
Shesh! I guess Serie A is going really hardcore on giving youth a chance, huh? To be fair, Inter do have some fantastic youth prospects.

Not sure if this is the right thread to ask this question. If not please move as appropriate!
Just moved to Inter Milan after spending the rest of my save at Burnley. One thing puzzling me about Serie A - How am I supposed to keep squad players fit? There's essentially no reserve team to play in unless you're very young. Completely puzzled as to how I'm supposed to keep back-up players fit.

If I absolutely hammer it, about a week. I like to tinker and explore the player database.

On my Windows 10 you can see the desktop by pressing the windows button and then clicking on the far right hand end of the taskbar.
Interesting. I'll give it a try in the morning (shut FM down now). But doing that does minimise THIS window having just tried it now, so that would seem to bode well. Cheers. Damn new unfamiliar OS's!!

Probably a very simple thing that I'm missing, but I'm using Windows 10 (which is quite new to me) and I don't seem to be able to Minimise the FM window? I used to just press the "windows" button on my keyboard and it would collapse it to my taskbar, but now it just brings up my windows menu & doesn't collapse FM. Can I?

I'm so excited. And I just can't hide it. I'm about to lose control, and I think I like it.

Lighten up pal. It’s unhealthy to pick fights out of nothing for no reason.
