Thank you so much for this post. I've been looking for a guide to hand hold me into the new training system. I've decided i'm going to start with using the pre-set training and tactical schedules and then tweak here and there.
I've noticed the ass man is selecting match tactics as the default match prep every week even though my tactic is 100% fluid (excluding the Position/Role/Duty bar). Does the ass man every change to defensive positioning/attacking movement etc. ? If not, I take it that once the tactic is fluid there is no reason not to intervene and select a more suitable preparation option?

That's what I care about too. The CCCs!
All tactics will score goals because players can score goals, especially if you have players like aguero who can dribble his way to goal or ronaldo who can shoot from distance. What matters is whether the tactic can actually create clear chances rather than players taking it upon themselves to fashion out an impossible goal single-handedly.

I just want to say following Lionel Messi's 82nd goal this season...no one can complain about how super tactics which make your striker score 50+ goals is cheating.
As you can see FM clearly reflects real life football.......

I'm waiting for feedback on Cleon, Hopefully she won't be long, Must be out shopping or something you know what women are like!

i have been testing daves new 4-1-2-3 with west brom, only bought yaya sanogo and im 2nd after 19 games with 12wins 4draws and 3loses scored56 against18, they will make you overachieve with any team and are a very good pair of tactics

I plan to test up to January just gonna show screens after 10 games.
With hearts i have scored 13 goals in 3 games......

I'm letting my assistant pick the sides all i am doing implementing my tactic and watching the games.
Driver is injured and Templeton hasn't played any league games but did really well in friendlies
perhaps you should test for more than 10 games each.
whilst it is good for showing a tactic works for a majority of teams, it doesn't show for how long
like FuSS said there are many good tactics but not all of them last what has been come to know as the january "re-rank".
perhaps its a good idea to test for atleast 14 league games (which includes any domestic or european cup fixtures)
just my two cents- dont mean to offend!

there is a tweaked tactic of vodu's on fm base and i think someone might have uploaded it to si forums aswell.
It has "pawn" in the name so ctrl+f on the tactics forum and see if it can find it

I bought 5 new players, all signed before the transfer window reopened. Surely the friendliest would suffer more than league games. Match prep is set to "very high" "teamwork".

I don't particularly like the movement of the tactic but it sure does get the job done!
Certainly, this is the case in the league where I am pretty much beating everyone!
Great tactic! But not for me, weirdly id rather lose a few more games if it meant that it was possible to play more attractive football (just a personal preference)
Great tactic though dave, the dms clear up absolutely everything and the inside forwards/ wingers always seem to find a space between the opposing full back and centre back to put through my strikers! I just love how the dms actually just sit there and protect the defence, it is particularly better when you have good passers at dm (miereles, lampard, alonso, m'villa, leiva etc) as you see them spraying incredible passers to your attacking 4.

Can yous not just leave the man to test the tactic in piece you will get it wen it is ready

Your comment is unneeded. I didn't ask when the tactic will be out or pressure him into doing so, therefore I have not demonstrated any indication of impatience.
Hough initially stated the tactic would be out early, before then stating that he was going out and he will know more about the release around 4/5.
Seeing as it is past 4/5 and there has been no expected time of release or actual tactic, it is only correct to assume hough has come across some trouble in his last few tests. I am well within my rights to express this feeling (without pressure) in order to see if this is actually the case.
I am getting tired of people thinking they are better members simply because they a) read every detail of the op b) dont ask when a tactic will be out c) dont ask too many questions and so on. I use the forum correctly (in most cases) but I don't feel it necessary to comment on those who are deemed to use it incorrectly.

Hough, i would probably advise that when you release the tactic you give a good detailed explanation of when you to use each tactic.
eg. For a top team in a top league (man utd, chelsea arsenal) against a top team in a league (manchester, chelsea arsenal) and you are playing at home use the Away tactic
it might take a while put it will save questions and impatience

Just got in from work, I'm very happy with how my Crewe test is going as when i took over from them they where 24Th in league 2, I managed to steady the ship and won the league.
so into league 1 we go and I've made a fair few signings but all free as i have had no money at all.
So far played 9 games won 6 drawn 3. I need to point out that my players are very poor, I'd love to strengthen my side but just have no money to do it
I would like to echo dave's comments about crewe! I was managing them in my journeyman save, the players are absolutely awful bar like 2 or 3 tbh.
So it is difficult. I achieved a similar feat, taking over when they were in the relegation zone and went on to win the title and promotion.
Hopefully tomorrow the tactic is out and it's the best we have seen on this patch!

That's a really good distribution of goals/assists across the 4 attacking players there and even better to see some contributions among the MCs. Could you kindly post the tactic for us? I'm sure many others will see this 4231 and want to try it out also.
