I've activated the Russian 3rd tier to the point it appears in game setup but at manager adding stage, the league is not available. All rules were verified in the editor so I have no idea what I've missed.

Dinamo Moscow have the option of creating a 2 club at the end of the first season, but they already exist (Dinamo-2 Moscow) but seem to not be linked in game when they are in real life.
Also a shame not to see the YFL implemented in game.
Yan Gudkov - should be CB but has a random position.
Was disappointed to see so many players missing from the youth teams of several clubs (Dinamo has just 1 played in their U18 squad, Zakharyan, who is severely underrated), including even Zenit - Danil Kuznetsov and Rony Mikhailovskiy are two of the best prospects in Russia aged 17 and 16 but are missing for example.

Yes this is an academy who only use homegrown players, though the culture is incorrect as they do sign players in reality, but only those who have been at the academy in the past. This is why I was hoping to change it/remove it.
Hopefully there will be a fix if it is currently not doable.

Anyone figured out how to edit "Club Culture"?
Each team has a Club Vision section in the editor but not the club culture.

Chertanovo Moscow have a transfer restriction set in club culture "Club is not allowed to sign any players" - which is not true.
I can't work out how to remove this in the editor? I assumed it could be in the visions.dbc file but I am unable to import this to the editor.

Major bump but I have encountered this error last night.
During testing, it sims the first season fine and then I get a mismatched number of dates (22 dates when there should be 26).
I can’t change them because it would mess up my first season, however my number of teams in the league is fluid (it’s the 5 regional Russian 2nd divisions) and therefore I want to actually not use dates, but it forces me to.
I think my ideal solution would be: how can I make my rules work without having a date for every matchday?
The RPL only has 6 compulsory dates in a 30 matchday season and works fine, so in theory I should be able to have the same in these divisions, but it forces me to create dates for every matchday, which then can go wrong after 1 season if the number of teams changes.

I will try switching to AMC (S) for the time being for definite. I think you may be thinking of the Mezzala, rathern than the Carrillero, but understandable if you haven't played the game!
The Carrillero is a bit like the Kante role.
For large swathes of the season before this I used one Winger and one Inside Forward and I have also used both as Inside Forward but my tactical report always highlighted the main negative as "we have taken xx shots from outside the box without scoring." In fact, one has just appeared in my emails.
From the half in question, here is my average position of squad with the ball, if that may help in any way.

I don't know what else I can do to stop my team from taking so many long shots.
I've got every midfielder and my full backs on shoot less often, Work Ball into Box applied from the start, Retain Possession applied in a desperate attempt to stop shooting, and all I see is my players trying long shots.
In this first half of a pre-season friendly we had 65% possession and 17 shots, only scoring one.
This is my starting tactic and instructions, in this match I quickly changed to Control when we were having lots of possession.
Also my players keep getting to the byline inside the box, and then shooting from the tightest angle when I've got a striker free in the 6 yard box, would be great to know if there is a way to rectify that.
If anyone has any advice it would be much appreciated..

Well my tactic at the moment looks like so:
Having been in 12th place when I asked for help yesterday, I finished the season in 4th place, getting 37 out of 51 points after the January transfer window, conceding only 14 goals in the same 17 game period, while scoring 39 goals. Previous to this I had conceded 46 in 21 games.
Here are the final stats of the squad as well. In the past couple of seasons there had been a more even spread of goals and assists, but Lasogga stepped it up bigtime and has played phenomenally.
Here's to a successful full season under this tactic!

Looking OK at the moment. Scoring has slowed a bit cause my main striker is out, but have only conceded 5 goals in the last 8 games, as many as I conceded in 1 game vs Barcelona prior to that run.

Good to hear you're scoring well.
My first thought would be that your defensive cover from midfield is fairly low. A BWM will always aggressively close players down and is fairly reckless in defensive positioning. Usually, a BWM would be coupled with a very disciplined defensive player to cover for his team mate's wanderings. Your DLP(s) is, I imagine, fairly helpful in linking defence and attack however won't offer as much defensively as you may need - especially with fairly attacking flanks.
I know you have your WB on support however they will still often join the midfield strata to compliment attacks which will leave you fairly vulnerable to an effective AMC/AML/AMR set up.

I will switch he LB/RB to FB(s) for a bit and see how that works, while switching the RCM to CM(D).
Over the last few games I've also had the LM/RM as WM(A) working well, but might swap that to (S) also.

Hello all. Was wondering if you could perhaps assist me with my defence.
I'm in my 4th season with Eibar, in La Liga. We are the 3rd top scorers in the league (http://i.gyazo.com/a14ef4aefa0c8e5e0c05cbed274d527e.png) but have the 4th worst defence (http://i.gyazo.com/9fce5cde33e0e2fc0dbde520cdf933c8.png).
The tactic has remained the same, with minor role changes, since season 1, and has worked very succesfully, especially on the goalscoring front, with the ST, AMC, ML and MR all scoring 8 goals or more least season, while both the wingers and AMC hit double figures for assists.
The defence has always been relatively leaky. Last season I put it down to the player quality, but I revamped the defence completely this season, upgrading significantly on each position, but still we concede a lot of goals.
That is my main tactic and line up at the moment.
I'm about to try a couple of games with the LB/RB as LFB's and see how that goes, but is there anything fundamentally wrong with it?
P.S: Up until earlier this season I had one DC as CD© and one as CD(X) but changed recently.

Yo.
So I'm running with this formation. The player roles vary depending on who is fit, but my ideal XI are in there.
I'm trying to have the team play a reserved possession game in their own half/on the halfway line and then have the Regista play through balls for any of the attacking 4.
Chances have been up and down depending on opposition and so has possession.
Final scores are in red.
My first observation is that my shot on target ratio is largely less than 50%. Second is how low my possession is. I have used the "Retain Possession" shout in the first 4 games, not for the Krasnodar and Spartak games.
Not sure what I'm really looking for. "How can I keep more possession?" is my main gripe here I think. Can provide screenshots of anything else (shots and locations etc) if needed.

I was hoping the Chertanovo issue would be fixed with the patch but alas no. I know there was a post in a different subforum about the issue but I can't find it through search, so just re-upping this in the hopes it will be working for FM22.
Sad thing is they may end up relegated this season which would leave them unplayable since the PFL isn't in FM, and therefore for the three years they were manageable in FM they were hindered with false restrictions
