Love the work Knap, have you had any success with a 3-4-2-1 or even better 4-3-2-1, but both narrow. Like the old school Christmas tree formation?

Is this happening to anyone else? I'm getting constant xGs around 3 and opponents getting xG around 0.8, but they score with every shot. They'll have 5 on target and score 4, I'll have around 14 and score 2. I've tried 21.5HolyGhostFire 451 and a few others, just constantly conceding, I was wondering if anyone else has found this on the new match engine?

My last match for example, its happening pretty much every match. How do you score 5 with an XG of 1.18? Once in a while I'd be fine with but 8 games out of 20 so far?

Hi @knap, amazing work as ever. Just a general question thats been bugging me for ages, is there a logic behind the tactical names, your Zenom's, Beowolf etc? I get they're grouped together for style against formation, but I'm keen to know what each one is please Thanks!

It does read that way yeah, I'm going to give the 4231 Beowulf a try, just not a fan of Inside full backs but otherwise looks a wicked formation Keep up the good work sir, makes it worth while for me!

I've been using TeaForOneUroKnap4231P101 which is relatively old school 20.4.1 tactic, its been random in quality but I've not played enough to say for certain.

Always looking for a great 4-2-3-1 with Inside Forwards and Wing Backs.

Because it is easy to lose 3 games in a row without any reason, I may have left it a few more games. Again good game to switch back.

Not sure if any team issues arose at that time but if stating to win again, maybe just a bad patch.

TBH Its frustrating the amount of 1on1s Grabban's been missing for me, so felt it was only a matter of time before started losing. Anyway, as you say what I'm thinking now is a team I shouldn't beat I'll try the 4-5-1 and the teams I should beat I'll go with the 4-2-3-1.

Just after the Middlesbrough game, battered by QPR but we had better stats, then once I'd lost again I tried 4-5-1 Preachin Blues, and then switched back for the Blackburn game and I've just beaten Reading 2-3.

I've found a recent game very frustrating. Playing as Nottingham Forest and quite well, missing millions of 1 on 1s but still picking up wins. Then without warning can't win a game, against virtually anyone. Try changing formations etc and still nothing. I was using 4-3-2-1 Parisian Walkways, which I've got back to now to see if consistency will help.

So annoying.

Still props to Knap as ever, making the game great with tactical options as ever.

As another poster said it would be nice to just have a 4-2-3-1 that works  Or something that replicates classic Barca or current liverpool, back 4, 3 centre mids with a DM, one centre forward and two inside forwards, as much as I try to make them they just never work.

You've got to buy FM20, the last 4 years I've pretty much exclusively used your tactics, its amazing work and I think you for it!

I love a 4-2-3-1, Knap tactics are awesome, but the start of the season under 19.1 I was unbeaten, even got a 14 point lead at the top of the league, since the 19.1.5 patch I've lost more than I've won and about to drop 2 points behind the leaders. It annoys me how much a patch change alters a game, I always think they shouldn't apply to saved games, only to newly created ones.
