  1. Slowly getting my Banbury game going in preseason and should be getting through a season over the next few days/weeks. I always like a good story, though, and figured I'd share one with you guys. I am from England but moved out to the US when I was younger, and currently am a coach at various levels out here including club, high school, and college. The college I coach at is an all-girls school, and they introduced the premise of sports classes this year in an effort to make the campus as a whole more healthy. One of the classes is Soccer 101, and I was asked to teach it. The basic idea is to get the girls out there actually playing, but of course I felt it was necessary to do a bit of background on the sport first, as about half my class is girls from the team, a quarter girls from other sports teams, and a quarter are about as athletic as a brick wall. So, after a few weeks of doing basic background and information, last week I assigned each of them a position on the field that they had to do research on, including quality real life players of the current time, and the attributes you would look for in a successful player in this position. What better way, I thought, to test them on their knowledge and understanding, then to print off some of the best players from this thread, and give them to the girls and ask them based on the players attributes what position they think they play. Of course, I covered up the player position and any other information outside of the attributes which might help them, but on Tuesday we shall see how good these girls are at judging FM player gold! Thanks to Dafuge, Swinburn, and a few others, who unknowingly provided me with these top quality players, hope it's alright I borrowed them for this "assignment." I'll update with how they did if anyone is interested.
  2. Thanks Blackdevil I'll try that
  3. Tried this BlackDevil, thanks for the input, but it didn't work. Can you explain the 2nd option with folder and search options? Thanks!
  4. Unfortunately, I have messed up my computer royally, deleting everything, so I have had to start over. I have started as Banbury Town. Cannot get a screenie right now, as apparently the "Users" folder doesn't exist on my computer, even though when I specifically search for my Banbury save, it shows up and is there. If I manually try to get to that folder using C:, Users, etc, it doesn't show up, however. If anyone knows how to fix this problem, PLEASE let me know.
  5. Well, third time is the charm apparently, as I made it one step further each time in my quest to be promoted from the BSS. First year, lost in playoff semis. Second year, lost in playoff final. This year, third year, won in playoff final and promoted to BSP! Couple of players of importance: Right midfielder was immense! Free kicks, assists, just a megastar. Harry Baker Christian Blackwell - Second season wasn't so impressive, but did set us on our way in the playoff final with a goal in the first 30 seconds! Nathan Nyalfi - Injured for half the season, definitely helped us when he was back Connor Brennan - Loaned this guy for the last couple of months, and although he did allow quite a few goals, certainly helped us get up. Going to be a long off season finding players that can hack it at the BSP level, should be an interesting and certainly long season!
  6. Patch has seriously made this game so frustrating, not enjoying it at all.
  7. Pretty classy staff you have there. Sure you can't spare a few for a poor BSS side?
  8. This patch is seriously questionable. Gotta battle through it.
  9. Happened to me plenty in the 1st and 2nd versions, but hasn't since the patch update to 13.3
  10. So, like I mentioned before, defeat in the playoff final. It came down to the final day, with Salisbury on 72 points, Eastbourne Boro on 70, and myself on 69. I had a pretty straightforward game vs mid-table Tonbridge who I beat 2-1, while Salisbury went 1-0 down in the first minute from an own goal and could never recover losing 3-1 to Dorchester at home. That left Eastbourne Boro, who had been on the run of all runs to even get into the playoffs, winning something like 8 out of their last 10. They had Dartford away, and went 1-0 up, then Dartford scored and I was celebrating, til in the 88th minute Boro scored, and we were in the playoffs again in second. Beat Sutton Utd 5-2 on aggregate after a 3-0 second leg win where we completely dominated, and had Bath in the final. We had dismantled them away from home 2-0 three weeks earlier, and were looking nothing like the same team, going 1-0 down after 80 minutes. We equalized in the 90th, and I thought I was destined to win after that, but a goal in the 107th minute from Bath proved me completely wrong. Probably the lowest a champion has ever been promoted on in the BSS, no one in the league could find consistency, and I am looking forward to next year. Also came second in manager of the year voting. A few screenies: Christian Blackwell - Started off in insane form, then was injured for 5 months, still came joint top goalscorer on the team. And only 17. Harry Baker - New right winger started off very, very well. Cooled off a bit towards the end of the season but still had a good campaign. Rickie Hayles - Center back who popped up with some important goals and was rarely at fault for ones we let in. Overall squad. Onwards and upwards for the Gulls next year!
  11. Trust me, I love it, and I am all about doing things the right way and struggling through! Appreciate the thoughts though. Glad to see you're killing it. And dafuge, well, that's just another reason to add to the list of why I hate City.
  12. Pretty frustrating, especially when I see people manage to win every single time in the playoffs, but I have failed to qualify out of the BSS at the second attempt, losing 2-1 AET vs Bath in the playoff final after a convincing 5-2 Agg. victory over Sutton Utd. in the semis. I do, however, feel as if my team would have gotten destroyed in the BSP, and I certainly am glad to be playing honestly and not reloading so it's probably for the better I stayed down. Just need to go ahead and win the thing outright next year and not worry about the damn playoffs. I'll post a full report tomorrow.
  13. Sign that Myakushko guy up. Will give the commentators nightmares as well as he looks quality!
  14. Does anyone else playing in the BSS get annoyed by the number of goals that Danny Mills scores for Bishop's Stortford, despite the fact that he has literally nothing about him that would suggest he'd be a goal a game kind of striker?
