  1. Alright, so I'm still trying to edit the Dutch league system and wanted to create the new league pyramid that will be introduced in the 2016-2017 season in real life. Unfortunately this is appears to only be possible by recreating the entire league system from scratch rather than adding league below. For some reason I am unable to activate the 'Topklasse' and it is also impossible to add the new 'Landelijke Divisie' between the Topklasse and the Jupiler League. Any help with this would be appreciated, but it's not what I really wanted to ask. My real questions are as follows: - Is it possible to keep the default settings for TV Money and Discipline Rules somehow when you create a new league system? I ask because TV revenue isn't evenly shared in the Dutch leagues and I see no option to add individual TV revenue pay outs in the editor. - Is it possible to keep default Discipline Rules? Right now I'm forced to choose from the list of yellow card suspension rules, i.e. 5, 10, 15 etc., and the actual rule that is used in the Netherlands does not seem to be there. In the Netherlands you get a suspension after 5 yellows, then again after 10 and from there a one match suspension for every next yellow card. Many thanks for any help and answers provided
  2. If he holidays past the selection date it might generate a greyed out goalkeeper to fill out the squad. That has worked for me a few times in the past at least when I had similar problems.
  3. Holidaying for a day might work... Worth a try at least.
  4. Thanks again for your help, Eugene. I went with the HP laptop in the end. Pretty much the same specs as the one in the post above. Gives me a 5 star performance rating and with about twenty leagues loaded i'm still at about 3 stars for speed. It's exactly what I was hoping for in that regard. So to the person asking about that laptop I would say that at least in terms of FM performance it does pretty well. I was thinking though, would it be smarter to load about ten leagues and then add or remove leagues as I go along? Haven't played FM since FM 2011 so I'm not sure how well adding leagues works for long term journeyman saves.
  5. I don't think so. At least they don't show up on the squad screen normally. Would that be it then? Added squad rules won't show if there aren't any squad rules in the default league settings? I could live with that as long as the rules still apply when it comes to actually playing the matches. Perhaps I should test it by only allowing one foreign player or something and seeing if teams actually field only one foreigner then.
  6. That's basically what I did now and the rule shows up under the league rules. But when you go to the bottom of the squad page it says 'no squad rules for Eredivisie'. So now I am not sure if the rule is actually working or not. It does show the 'fgn' icons for foreign players on the squad screen though. Can I assume that the rule will work then?
  7. I've been trying to use the Advanced Editor panel to add a rule to limit the amount of foreign players used in Dutch Eredivisie matches but I've run into some problems that I hope someone will be able to help me with. I already had a look at this thread http://community.sigames.com/showthread.php/372562-Adding-Rules-to-existing-league-structures and it was a good help, but some of the information in it appears to either be outdated or there is something with the Eredivisie that is a bit different. In the thread above it says the following: If you click on the '+' next to the nation this will bring up a new list full of options. You will be interested in 'Fixture Rules', which again will have a '+' next to it. If we click on this +, we will be able to see all the different rule groups that are used in England. There will typically be one for every competition which has different rules. In the case of England there are 21 different rule groups. What we need to do first is find which rule group we need to change! This is easy to do. If you select the competition you want to edit on the lower left hand list, you will see a series of options appear. Clicking on the 'Competition' tab will bring up basic information about this competition. If you scroll down the main panel until you see the 'Fixture Rules Index' tab (which is just under the 'Date Range' box. This tells you the number of the rule group this competition uses. In the case of the premier league it is 6. We can now edit the correct set of rules without changing anything else. However, there is no value in the ' Fixture Rules Index' tab for the Eredivisie, it is just greyed out. And when I click on it I get a value of -1... I have no idea what this means but I've tried to simply change the -1 to 0 and edit the corresponding rule in the nation tab (Rule 0) and adjust that to fit my needs. When I do that it shows the foreign player rule in the game under the league rules, but when I go to a squad page of any of the clubs in the league it shows that there are no squad rules for the Eredivisie. Now I'm guessing this has to do with having edited the wrong fixture rule, but how else can I do this if there are no existing fixture rules listed? I could really use some help with this so I hope someone will be able to shed some light on what I'm doing wrong here. Many thanks for your help!
  8. I don't think it is or ever has been, but it would certainly be a fun addition to the game in my opinion.
  9. It's nice to see someone with a friendly attitude coming on here to give some good feedback and treat others' opinions with respect. Oh wait....
  10. How about you stop spamming these forums about this little obsession of yours... That would be my suggestion at least.
  11. Bit of a big bump here... But before I go out and buy FM2015, can anyone tell me if the AI squad building has been improved in any way? The last FM I played was FM2011 or FM2012 (not sure anymore) and I remember that getting boring after a while with AI teams becoming too weak to offer a good challenge. I'm hoping that won't be as much of a problem if I start unemployed with low reputation and go for a journeyman save, which is the plan, but I'd still like to hear some opinions on if and how AI squad building has been improved in recent editions of FM and especially in FM2015.
  12. I'm a bit more of an old school player so I might even use the 2D view only for nostalgic reasons So yeah, graphics aren't too much of an issue then. I haven't played FM after the ability to add and remove leagues was introduced. So assuming that system works well I think the amount of leagues you mentioned should be just fine to have a nice journeyman save. Thanks again, it's great these forums have people like you willing to help out with this sort of thing. I'd like to think I've even learned a thing or two now
  13. Hope you don't mind, but I have two more questions for you Eugene. - If all I'm looking to do with the laptop is play FM with a decent amount of leagues loaded, write stuff, browse the web and maybe watch some Netflix should I then be worried about the graphics card at all or would it be better to go for the best processor I can find within my budget? - With the i5-4288U 2.6Ghz processor, approximately how many leagues would I realistically be able to run without everything slowing right down? Many thanks again for your advice. It's been a real help.
