Firstly i think your approach is very wrong.. asking in the Skinning Hideout if there is any "Boring" skins, the ppl in here is making great work and not Boring skins.

all skins are great in it own way, it's all down to needs and preferences.

If you think a skin is boring, thats ofc your right, and if you think such a skin has existed, you might wanna look at sites that has alot of skins to pick from :)

I don't think any offence can be taken when he was asking for a deliberately "boring" skin that is inconspicuous.

  2. For the love of God, someone fix defensive headers!!!

*Ball harmlessly floating out of play for a goal kick* Result - Defender heads it off the byline to an opposition player to score

*Ball aimlessly lofted forward, defender has 10-15yards of space around him to control it or nod it back to keeper* Result - Defender aimlessly heads it backwards to the opposition

*Corner/set piece cleared to wide area* Result - Defender heads it right back into the mixer under no pressure

Don't get me wrong, things are massively improved since the patch but this **** breaks any immersion totally!

Would you mind sharing a screenshot.  When I check my scouting overview it also shows 5% for everyone, but whenever I hover over the grade widget it shows that everyone is at Extensive Knowledge (and this appears to be the same on the base skin, too).  I haven't made any changes to that specific bit, so some pictures might help me understand what is going on.

I did some checking myself and noticed the same with the base skin and other mods and it's the same for all so must be an SI bug.

Oh, that's peculiar.  Would you be able to share a screen recording?

Yes, that's the button for requesting player analytics - it won't show until after 3 games.  I am looking to see if I can remove the "Data Hub isn't ready yet" message that is currently cut off.

Ah thank you.  I knew there'd be somewhere I missed.  Would you mind exporting and sharing the view you're using (might help identify what is controlling the person_button there)?

FYI, I updated to the latest version and whatever the issue was seems to have resolved itself. Might have been some random glitch on my end.

My general feedback, much of which no doubt repeats what I am seeing on the forums and on content creators.

I'm very underwhelmed by this year's game, and also apprehensive about next year's game.

This year, the headline features just aren't big enough; yes the ME is better, but it's not a new game worth improvement. Other headline features are mediocre; I turned the CL sound off after my first game, and skipped through the draws. The squad planner is somewhat useful, but still buggy. I've been playing since CM01/02, and this is the first time I've really regretted the purchase. Ultimately I'm seeing it as a database upgrade.

I'm apprehensive about next year as I know a large part of the headline feature will be women's football. I'm all for it, and glad it's being introduced. But I'm worried at what cost to the progress the game will make in other areas. There are so many things that still haven't improved with the game; set plays, corners, training, graphics! I would much prefer improvements there than license additions etc, which are fixed anyways with mods within a day of purchasing the game.

General thought, is that I wish SI would increase the cost of the game to unlock more investment into new features. I've had so much value from the game over the years, that I'd happily pay £50-£60 for it, if there were real progressive features being delivered. In honesty, I'm shocked the SI have kept the game and the price they have for so many years; with the economy the way it is, the cost of wages for top developers rising, they must surely be running and a low profit margin. Furthermore, I'd also be more than happy paying c. £6-£10 a month on a subscription model, for regular releases of new features.

Final wish, is that the game was more open to MODs, we've started to see the power of some bolt ons on the market: Zealand's facepack, database additions, skins etc. I wish the MODs could start going deeper into functionality, and that SI could work with them to improve the feature availability of the game.

    Cheers,

    Kev

In summary then, you would happily pay more for the game despite them already having a huge annual turnover because that will encourage them to invest and work harder???

Or maybe they'd happily take the extra money, keep pumping out the same stuff and as you suggest, have modders do all the actual work for them while paying for the privilege.....

This is not some small, indie, resource starved company we're talking about here!

Right, I've committed myself. For all the faults people are highlighting in the beta, for me the bread & butter of FM is the match engine and realistic tactics. Rashidi at BusttheNet Gaming and now YouTuber RDF have shown me enough to feel the ME has made steps forward, so I've coughed up and am downloading the game now.

Yes, lots of improvements but brace yourself for the all too common defensive cluster****s that will have you ripping hair out. I really hope they get this sorted for release, or sooner because this ME really feels like there is potential.

    Bug when someone scores,

Andy Carroll scored his first and it popped up '1st of the season' then he scores his second and it pops up '4th goal of the season'

Can confirm, I've seen a player score their 3rd, 4th and 6th goals of the season with 3 goals in a game.

You would imagine counting would be an easy part of the game. Makes you wonder if the stats can be trusted at all.

There are some workarounds like using some match screens from the previous editions and you can get to the analysis tabs/screens through opening opposition instructions or when you click to the name of the style of your formation in the upper part of the heat map. But I think I read in the official blogs that the analysis will be available also through the game in FM23 but not sure if it works or if it's right.

No analysis options during games from what I can see so I assume SI have decided that those of us with less free time on our hands deserve to be punished for not watching games in full!

That’s not the point I was trying to make. If you had answered the question instead of trying to be smart, you would have understood that my point was maybe there is a certain instruction that isn’t working as intended because I’ve not hade problem with players running past my defenders and I have nothing ticked in the out of possession instructions

Apologies, I made an assumption you were one of those "it's your tactics" types.

These forums definitely wouldn't make a fella cynical.....

Be interested to hear/see what tactics you are playing. Not saying the issue you have come across is because of your tactics, but in my Birmingham City save my team is ultra boring and never score or concede more than 1 a game pretty much. Wondering if I have managed to stumble across a tactic that negates this issue.

I feel tactics are an irrelevance for the issues I refer to and comes down to players consistently making ridiculous mistakes. Tactics in your case may simply be stifling the game to a degree that masks the problems.
