  1. Hi Neil, What are the real life badge equivalents? Are you allowed to say? In terms of the coaching pathway in England there are only 5 steps (Level 1, 2, Uefa B, A, Pro) but on the game there are 7. I just wondered which one may be the Level 2 equivalent so I can make myself more realistic Cheers, Paul
  2. Forgive me if this question has been asked before, but I couldn't find it after a quick glance through. Does anyone know if there is a way of finding out training performances for the whole squad on one page? So you can compare them. On the home page, the Training Performance widget is perfect, but it only shows the top 5/6 players. Is there anyway of seeing them all in a list?
  3. A meteoric rise through the Italian leagues. Congrats on winning the title. How's the fella from Gateshead getting on? The striker you had..
  4. But can the host make the save file available online from the cloud? The scenario is that I want to check my team/analyse tactics when the game isn't running so when I'm next in the game proper, I have done all of my "homework", so to speak.
  5. Anyone got any ideas on this?
  6. I would say that if you are struggling managing all of the issues in the game then why not look at playing FMC? A lot more cut down, and a lot more plug and play. A comment Miles made to me on Twitter: "...we're aiming to be a simulation. If people just want to click "space" & "win" then Classic mode is more appropriate"
  7. First of all, you can't just pick a formation and expect to win (the last few versions have been pretty easy but FM14 is a fair bit different). You have to really consider your players, where are you strongest, what roles suit them best and the biggest thing I've found is having the right balance between attack in defence. As with anything else, the more time you put in, the more you'll get out. If you just throw together a formation and a group of players, more often than not it won't work. Try to work out why you're conceding, why you're not scoring etc and then use your footballing knowledge to find solutions. It isn't a "press spacebar and win" game any more. They are constantly trying to push for a more realistic simulation of Football Management and everything that goes with it.
  8. I would say a professional club only because you can get fully involved in the training side. With semi-pro clubs it's frustrating knowing they don't train all the time so everything seems to happen a bit slower. All part of the game though.
  9. I have a question about online saving of games. First of all, how does it work? Is it that the file is uploaded to Steam or a Football Manager server? Secondly, is it possible for more than one person to access this save? I play a network game with a couple of mates and it'd be good if when we're not playing, if we could load it up individually to scout players and what not? Cheers in advance! Paul
  10. It's just interesting to see where people are taking the game. I'm studying for an ITIL qualification at the moment, so I get my fill of long words there. My point is that writing styles are prevalent throughout the forum for a reason (to keep the reader interested), maybe the author of this thread will see a rise in interest if the language wasn't just to appeal to a specific type of FM player/Forum Member. No doubt, the content is cracking but the application may be trying too hard to appeal to the higher level of forum member.
  11. Admittedly I haven't read the whole piece yet, but the irony in what I have read is astounding. Discussing the "confusion and misconceptions" with the tactic creator but then going on with the business-jargon and deliberately excessive use of long words will massively see the majority of FM players bypassing this. But then maybe I'm not the target audience for this? Maybe I see FM as more of a game than a business case.
  12. I did have a quick search but couldn't find much on it, but it is quite specific I suppose. I'm playing an online game with a friend and I quit my job after many poor results. Obviously, the game goes on and in the search for a new job I 'Go On Holiday'. I've had set the holiday settings as Apply for All Jobs and return upon job offer. My question is, what exactly does the Disconnect from Network game tick-box actually do? And upon offer, if I have ticked the disconnect box, how would I then going about accepting the job interview/offer or is that not what it's for?

  14. I try to use short passing and set the keeper to distribute to defenders. In theory, setting the centre backs to short passing limits their options so naturally they have to pass it to the more creative players in the team.
  15. Not exclusively, that's just my opinion. Personally I don't set a defensive line shout, leave it as default and play a higher tempo. Just seems to work for me. I think there are a lot of options you can play with to give width individually. I interpret it as your shape is narrow for the defensive transition so you can stay tight in the centre, but then give full backs an attacking mentality and stay wider instructions for your attacking phase. That's where I find my width.
