  1. You're a legend mate! Looking forward to playing with your database as I do every year.
  2. A lot of the newgen players have red noses. It looks like they're drunk or having a cold! Almost like a red dot around their nose. It seems to be mostly with players with a fair skin tone, about 40% of my first team squad. I just started a game in Belgium with fake players.
  3. Did you get a: "Since you're up, do you mind emptying the dishwasher, make our lunch and walk the dog?"
  4. Never seen this before, my forward decides to kick a player from behind. He must have taken revenge for something as it wasn't even a struggle for the ball. Result is that even though the ref got his back to the incident, my player gets sent off with a red card.
  5. This is what happens when Southampton decides to not sell any players to Liverpool anymore: I'm currently managing Southampton (season 2031-2032) and enjoying the youth setup there.
  6. I wonder how the commentator pronounces his full name.. Or even his first name...
  7. I wanted to know this as well. I've followed some of the conversation in this thread and decided to write it out on how to achieve this.
  8. Ok, got it. In case others are struggling, follow this guide: Download the FM18 Resource Archiver from Steam and launch it. Click "Extract Archive" and find the file "comp editor.fmf" in your Steam folder "...\Steam\steamapps\common\Football Manager 2018\data" Select a folder to extract the files to In the new folder, find "nation.xml" an open it. Note that there are 2 files called "nation.xml", but only 1 has the following text: <!-- Continent --> <record> <flags id="field" value="Ncti" /> <translation id="name" translation_id="229389" type="use" value="Continent" /> <flags id="type" value="database_record_unique_id" /> <flags id="database_table_type" value="continent" /> <boolean id="is_client_field" value="true" /> <boolean id="is_read_only" value="true" /> <boolean id="is_optional" value="true" /> </record> Change row <boolean id="is_read_only" value="true" /> to <boolean id="is_read_only" value="false" /> Save the xml file Before you go to the next step, make a backup of your "comp editor.fmf" file in case the process goes wrong for whatever reason Go to the Resource Archiver and package the file back together: Click "Create Archive" and save the archive file in the "...\Steam\steamapps\common\Football Manager 2018\data" folder. Only overwrite the existing file there if you had made a backup of it. Launch the Editor and it should work. Happy Editing!
  9. So in previous versions it was possible to create a new nation by editing one of the non-active nations in the editor. The only thing you had to do to be able to assign this newly created nation to a continent is open "db record lists" with notepad -> search for "<!-- nation table -->" -> change "<boolean id="allow_add" value="false" />" into "<boolean id="allow_add" value="true" />" -> close and save. How can we do this with the fm18 editor? The file structure is completely different.
  10. One of the reasons I play FM is because of this database! Brilliant work Dan!
  11. Every start of the season, I create my own newgen faces and assign them to players I think will play in the first team (if they don't have a custom face yet). Usually I make about half a dozen or so per season. Maybe that's a suggestion if you really don't like the newgen faces? Takes about 5 mins per new face. There's software out there that can create random faces for you.
  12. This reporter should really do his research before asking stupid questions... We're 1st in the English Championship and with 8 games to go, we're 30 points ahead of the relegation zone. It's mathematically not even possible anymore.
  13. +1 for that. The face of my virtual self is always to skinny in the cheeks. Tried several different pictures and moved the yellow dots around but couldn't get the model right. I know it's flattering to see a skinny version if myself, but it's not really fat-faced me.
