Hey Knap had been experimenting with a 4321 or 41221 narrow with 2 segundo volante attack or mezzala as want not only the amc but the mc to burst beyond striker and get goals too. This is where I have been experimenting wise but struggling for consistency and goals. Any suggestions?

Hi All, have been trying to work out an Xmas tree formation as my Palermo squad is largely made up of AMCs. Have experimented with a 4-3-2-1 of a holding midfield and 2x Segundo Volante on Attack behind the AMC but have been struggling for consistency and goals. Have been playing around and have come up with the below but would appreciate some comments and feedback on how to improve the tactic for maximise output

Will start my Utd save properly next week when new laptop arrives but interested to hear people’s opinions on laird. If it wasn’t for injuries then I would expect him to be in the squad as he showed more promise than Williams in the under 23s. Perhaps that hasn’t been reflected in this years fm

Not sure if there is anyone who does this to download as I never looked whilst playing previous versions of fm but is there any way of downloading a patch that mirrors the real life champions league group stage draw and inputs that into the game, I.e Leipzig Istanbul PSG and Man Utd in same group

Need to get myself a new laptop for continuing to work from home anyway as the company do not provide them and trying to find one that I can handle fm21 as well as all the players facepacks logos etc that I download. Would appreciate anyone’s opinion on the below laptop as an option.
im not the best when it comes to researching graphics cards and processors but to my untrained eye it seems not bad

Even forgot about the lad McNeill we signed from city. I agree the first team recruitment has not been good but it is nice to see some proper investment in the academy

Looking ahead to fm 21 utd is looking a really interesting prospect in terms of young players.
Goalkeeper wise we have Henderson for the long term and be interesting to see how lobar develops as he could become a good back up. With laird and Brandon as well as AWB and telles you have full backs covered for years whilst at centre back you have axel mengi and possibly kampwala depending on how good the game makes his potential
in midfield with garner and levitt there are options and I expect a boost for Galbraith too whilst Hannibal is the Jewell waiting in the wings. There could be room to sign a younger ball winner to replace matic if you want to push garner further forward
then for the wingers and attackers there are so many options. Diallo will be a wonderkid for sure and pellistri and then from the academy you have shoretire and forson Who look incredible as well as new signing garnacho and hugill added to an already young attack
certainly a case to be made for doing a utd save in which no first team signings are required for the foreseeable if you are able to develop the youngsters

I finally got round to starting a new game properly albeit through unconventional circumstances. Playing a network game with my friend was fired by Leipzig in January despite winning every Europa league game and being third in the league st the time (very strange in my opinion)
Quite bizarrely I was offered the Man Utd job in March with Ole being 8th in the league albeit in FA Cup and champions league quarter finals
as a big united fan myself I have strong feelings on the current problems with the club and so this summer will be perhaps the biggest overhaul I’ve ever attempted
Goalkeepers:
romero and grant out as I want to give Henderson gametime next season. Unless de gea agitates for a move he’s staying
defence:
young valencia rojo darmian bailly Jones smalling fosu mensah all out
midfield:
I think matic and Fred could be good but due to matic age want him out and think can do better than Fred. I love herrrera but as he is leaving us in real life I will let him go too
attackers:
lukaku sanchez mata will all leave. Depending on martials attitude he may be departing too and undecided on Jesse
will be promoting tuanzebe greenwood Chongy Garner potentially Ethan laird and Gomes too, as well as henderson
looking to play ether 433 or 442 but I can’t find a 442 that seems to be consistently good. Would appreciate a recommendation for tactics as well as potential transfer targets.
looking at a right back for obvious reasons, 2 centre backs (aiming for De Ligt as one). Maybe a back up left back although Dalot and laird could cover
i right winger ideally adept as rm and amr potentially sancho. Looking at at least one back aml or lm (Daniel James possibly) and maybe a starting left winger if martial goes
need two centre mids potentially to cover playing 3 Centre mid if necessary
up front I will be looking at 1 possibly 2 strikers to play 2 up front
been looking at a total restructure too with Stuart Webber from Norwich in as director of football and looking at restructuring coaching and scouting departments

I wanted to sort out the fullback area so I bought in Tierney and Kevin Mbabu from Young Boys.
De Light and Van De Beek came in from Ajax
My big signing was Fekir but after 2 games tore his cruciate and is out for the season.
The only major departure was Jesse for about £35m.
Schedule
The results have been fantastic to say the least,plenty of goals coming from open play although I still feel that strikers are missing way to many 1v1 and even though we are set to low crosses most crosses that come in are anything but.
My shining light so far is Paul Pogba,playing in the RPM position he is amazing.
I'll update at the end of the January window,I'm happy with the squad but have declared interest in Milenkovic Savic and if i'm given any funds which I think I will as my wage bill is about £300k a week less than expected then I'll try and get him.Lukaku is doing ok with 8 in 14 but I'm looking for something different in that position but I'm happy to wait until the summer for that to happen.
De Light and Lindelöf are doing well together and I have Bailly and Smalling as cover so no need to look to improve there.
Defensive midfield will need looking at as Matic is the only natural there.James Garner has a chance if I can get his attributes up and he is only 17(love the mentoring side of things)
For the first time ever I've kept Fellaini and to be fair as a BBM he isn't to bad but that is just for this season as I will be looking to offload him, Fred and Ander in the summer,I just don't think they are good enough to be honest.
Martial,Sanchez and Rashford are fighting it out for the AML slot and filling in for Lukaku when he gets injured.
Mata has made the AMR slot his own albeit as a result of the Fekir injury and I am giving game time to Chong and Greenwood in games when we are a couple of goals up with 20 minutes left in games.
All in all we're looking good but the squad needs sorting out over the next 3/4 transfer windows.
I’m playing something very similar but not getting many goals from wide areas. Can you post goal stats for your squad currently?

Managed to 16 from Newcastle for darmian, 25 from Monaco for smalling and Everton coughed up 14 for rojo. Mata went on loan to inter with obligation to buy for 18, which isn’t bad given last year of contract
despite all my attempts jones and fellaini are not wanted by anyone
anyone have thoughts on selling lingard. 53 from Arsenal is a lot but he’s local lad. Only real place I could see him in my system would be if he could be restrained as box to box
in terms of cb signing who have people gone with? Toby, skriniar and varane all seem gettable with better current ability than like of De Ligt and rugani
i see Saul and Casemiro both gettable for around 50 so considering one of them to bolster cm

Barella could be another good option although not as good as savic to start

I think a save as Southampton could be very interesting. Trying to get the best out of ings gabbiadini etc
well stocked with keepers and defenders so no work needed there. Perhaps a 442 with elyounoussi and ward prowse as wide midfielders and ings playing off either gabbiadini or Austin (or Callum Wilson if he can be poached)
an underachieving squad which has a lot of potential
