The orange colour scheme doesn't work well with white text.

 

Solution: Where white text is on orange, switch it to black text instead.

Small change. Tidy-up of the text alignment and adding the position grid is a significant improvement. (The position grid is not from this player.)

Multiplayer online games

On this screen, please add the games of other players in an online game. It would be very useful to see when and what the fixtures are coming up.

Single-player games

Add the ability to see fixtures of the teams around you in the league or up to 3 (seems like a doable number) selected teams.

Cup games

Add league and league position.

Long-standing issue: Please SI fix this process. This has been an issue for years; it's time to sort this out.

Squad screen layout

Default squad selection view.

If you now pull the position column closer to the name, you get this - 

Please, SI, can you fix this? Have an edit mode button that shows all the gridlines clearly so that moving columns around is easy. 

Add a button to expand the INF. This will show all the tiles to the right (sliding the columns over).

Why do this?

All the players go on holiday. Or are at INT in the close season, so it is impossible to know at a glance if a player is wanted, unhappy, etc, which is a bit nuts in the close season!

That's a shame. SI seems like an unnecessary restriction.

Support lifting that restriction. Allowing the ability to select a started date for a nation you are not playing in.

This is from the Touchline tablet.

I have an ultrawide screen. The boxes are made as big as possible. The base formatting is wrong. Easy to fix.

This was the same in FM23.

The ... is after the badge because it is the 2nd leg, and there should be (1) or (2), etc, but instead, there is ... because the (1) doesn't fit the frame.

The formatting should be like this.

Use of the ... text substitute

The addition of the three-dot text replacement has not been implemented well. The three dots often replace text that would take less space than the dots. The frames or columns (which I assume is how this is done) need tweaking. 

I can't find the clip I took of this, but there was an example of Englis... rather than English.

There is plenty of space to the right of the object.  No need to have (2...

Please support aggregate scores being visible and a commitment to not put ... in the coding at every opportunity but to format frames and columns to limit their need.

Explaining the League table

Wherever a league table is displayed, have text beneath, visible or viewable by click, explaining the competition. In these examples, the text is visible.

The EPL is very obvious, but if you have ever watched a content creator on YouTube do mental gymnastics trying to work out the fixture rules this would help. The information is available in the game but not readily at hand with the league table.

There is plenty of space to the right of this object. Auto-resize the object to remove the need for (2... 

Enlarge the positions grid and put it in a more visible location.

Get rid of the fixed horizontal line between pros and cons. Fill the space based on the number of entries in each category. This will scale with slider as it does now but no longer leave big empty gaps.

Add 'select position' or something to make the positions option more prominent.

[[England Premier Division] Data Issues]

in the beta Liverpool stadium (Anfield) has the tunnel in the corner. In real life its between the managers. (As it has been in previous versions.)

[How many of you still use 2D Classic?]

Did use 2D classic in FM 17 a lot with 3D behind goal for replays.

HATE the new 2D version - Miles was right no-one would be using 2D anymore.  Not because 3D is so much better to watch (stadium lighting and being able to see the ball anyone?) but because the 2D has been 'improved' to be worse - common SI approach  lol (played every single edition of FM so not said just for the hell of it).

But heard the hotfix does tweak the 2D so looking forward to that.

love, love, love Football Manager, not a fan of seeing what is made worse each year.  Do the improvements outweigh the backwards steps in FM18?  Not sure yet. Several smaller irritants are still in place.

Would be nice to be able to move the pitch left-right at times so that the stat pop-ups can always be accommodated as the player wants.
