I have a Schalke save i've been sitting on currently because I'm a bit afraid of the processing times (it is not good, I have too many leagues). I would just go in and change things to view only or remove unnecessary leagues, but I don't know if this will negatively affect the save too much, or if it would have no effect at all beyond better processing speeds.
