1 "What we've got here is a failure to communicate"
  1. It puzzles me why the Isle of Man, like Jersey and Guernsey, do not apply for FIFA and UEFA membership. Yes, they can have a team playing in the English leagues - after all, FC Andorra play in the Spanish leagues, San Marino Calcio in the Italian and teams from Liechtenstein play in the Swiss leagues - but surely it would help the island's development as a football nation to be involved playing the likes of Germany, England, France, Belgium, Netherlands, Spain etc. Further, if Gibraltar and the Faroes are both members of FIFA and UEFA despite not being independent states then why not the Isle of Man, Jersey and Guernsey? Having lived on the island about twenty years ago, I can vouch that the standard of football is quite high for an amateur league and they would easily hold their own against teams from Malta, Cyprus and Andorra, as well as potentially beating San Marino and Liechtenstein. snaptube   vidmate
