  1. An Introduction: Hello community, My name is Willis and I recently purchased a new laptop and after wanting to get into it for a while, also bought Football Manager 2024. For the last few months I have been watching plenty of YouTube videos from the likes of Zealand, RDF Tactics, FM Scout etc. as well as listening to podcasts such as the FM Show to better my understanding of the game. A game I had never played. All of this research combined with studying real life examples of managers and their methods has contributed to me building the beginning of what is my philosophy of football and now I have a game that I can try to implement my ideas into! My next step was to plan the saves in which I would undertake in my first year. I ultimately decided on three. Save Number 1 - Rangers: To begin, I thought it would be logical to give myself one practice season with a big fish in a small pond. Essentially, a low-risk save where I could find my way around the menus and experiment. I liked the idea of Rangers because I still had the challenge of European football and of course, overcoming Celtic. I have recently finished this one season practice save. Despite early exits in the Scottish Cup and Scottish League Cup, we were able to win the Scottish Premiership with one game to play. We played Celtic four times, beating them twice and drawing once. Not bad! We were able to win our Champions League qualification matches and were drawn a group with Real Madrid, Napoli and Royal Antwerp. We finished 3rd despite picking up a point at the Bernabeu. Down to the Europa League we went where we lost to Sporting CP in the Round of 16. All in all, I was very happy. I was enjoying the game and had won my first ever trophy, the Scottish Premiership! But now it's time to start something different. Save Number 2 - Malaga CF: I really liked the idea of a long-term save in which I could start in the lower leagues and work my way up. I love the idea of starting unemployed and managing clubs I've never heard of but from the advice I've seen, that might not be the smartest thing to do in my first year playing. So instead I settled on Malaga, a team I have a connection to after seeing them play twice on two different visits to the city. They're a side who after an extremely disappointing few seasons, find themselves in the third division of Spain. A challenging save but with a club full of potential which I will be starting tomorrow! Whether I'll spend my entire time at Malaga, or move onto bigger and better things throughout the seasons, remains to be unseen. But this is my long-term save and I'll be posting updates after each season as I go. Not because I think anyone will particularly care, but more so because I'd like something to look back on in the future. Save Number 3 - West Ham United: Finally, I wanted a fun save on the side with the club that I support. This will run alongside my main save and will end when it comes to its natural conclusion, when I feel like I've taken the club as far as I can or if I'm sacked. Hopefully, not the latter! Thank you for reading! If you could give me one piece of advice, what would it be? Willis
