7 "What we've got here is a failure to communicate"
  1. I am in a top club, having many scouts who therefore can focus on individual countries and yet my scouts are missing many wonderkids. Please check a screenshot of one of my recruitment focuses attached. For example, when there is the "Top 50 wonderkids" message in my inbox and I click on a player, his attributes are still masked and scounting needs to be started from scratch - regardless of me having a recruitment focus for that country with an experienced scout. I played FM23 thousands of hours so I can draw a comparison to FM24. Thank you for looking into this!
  2. first of all: under "add condition" you cannot add "age" as a condition. it just won't let you even though the option is there. If you then try the workaround and use the age-range - section on the left, you'll notice that the standard is always set to 21-33 years which is already unfortunate because it will not remember your changes when you hop back and forth. Second, this means you cannot search for a particular age - it at least has to be 2 years. Third, the range only starts getting considered when you actually change it - before it won't register. The above is for the "scouted players". With "players in range", it works a little bit better because it will remember your settings etc. still: you cannot add "age" as condition. it only works using the age-range on the left.
  3. suggestion for praise: tie it to CA ratings with a formula, possibly even considering LMRs of the past five matches. This would work especially well with player-after-match-praises
  4. Hello, FM is great and has become better and better but following things keep putting me off: 1. Certain things are just too static in their mechanics. An extreme example could showcase this, let's say for example you have to throw your 17 year old rookie player into a Champions League match because the two better options are injured and suspended. Then he does remarkably well (considering the circumstances) and gets a 7.00 rating. If I want to praise him now, he'll probably react negatively (!) just because it wasnt a >8.5+ rating. Or let's say my team scores against a stronger side and I praise them collectively - they might react negatively (!) just because it is not a 3 goals lead (or whatever is scripted for that). And in that case they wouldn’t need the praise to perform better anyways. Then, needless to mention the teamtalks: after many years of playing I know exactly how my team will react to each and every statement - and so often times it is the same strange lines (and only them) which will always result in a positive or negative reaction, and the match performance has too little to do with that. 2. identifying wonderkids: let's say I am at a third league club in my country but I somehow have managed to hire a very good scout. Despite his experience (let's say he was with Real Madrid before), because my club is in league 3, it is NOT possible for him to distinguish young Messi from a second league player - both will have a 5 stars potential rating. ok I get why SI is doing that, but it still feels strange. But now it gets even worse: you hire a normal looking player and their agent suddenly wants a 90.000.000 release clause. so by now you definitely know its a wonderkid... (which is sad because it breaks with that other system I just mentioned of not being able to identify them that easily).... and which also means the agent and apparently everybody else is much better at rating this player than my very good scout, when after the purchase the transfer value of this player sky-rockets within a very short while to 60.000.000 regardless of how well he has played.
